Your contribution supports shared organic meals, staple foods, tools and the ongoing care of BROOMHILL. It helps sustain a living stewardship project where learning grows naturally through participation in the daily rhythm of the land, alongside those who care for it.

BROOMHILL is a living ecological stewardship project nestled in New Zealand's alpine landscape. Here, the gardens, food forests and surrounding whenua are cared for through everyday participation rather than production alone. We grow seasonal food, tend the soil, share simple nourishing meals and care for the many relationships that allow a place to thrive. Learning isn't delivered through a programme—it emerges naturally through observing, aski

The project is a wonderful place to get in touch with the land, immerse yourself in sustainable living, and learn more about the environment and our relationship to it. Caro and Trev have built a n amazing refuge tucked into the mountains, and I felt very welcome in their home and community. The work and expectations were well-communicated, the food was beyond delicious, and they truly made me feel like a member of their family. I learned so much from them, and am very grateful for my time at the project!

Thank you so much for your kind words, and for all the help you offered around the place — including the countless peach-preserving efforts and the long days moving timber on the slope for the new chicken palace.
We really appreciated your presence and the way you contributed while you were here. It’s always special when shared work in the kitchen and on the land becomes something that also feels like belonging for everyone involved.
We wish you all the very best on your path ahead.

From the moment I arrived I was welcomed into their family and had the most amazing time with them for the 2 weeks I was there. They are such a beautiful little family, and it was a privilege to be able to be a part of it. Their property comes with such a great vision for the future and really walks the walk too, I really look forward to coming back and seeing their development in the future. I came in wanting to become more grounded and I really got that working with the land and the gorgeous area. The all-organic meals were absolutely delicious too! Thank you for having me <3

Jaydin was an absolute pleasure to host. He is reliable, self-organised, and brings a calm, grounded presence that supports the flow of work. He stepped into tasks thoughtfully, organised his needs clearly, and asked the right questions to deliver excellent results. He respected our family rhythm, kept shared spaces tidy, and moved through the experience with integrity and kindness. Jaydin brought steady hands, a warm heart, and genuine care to the whenua — we’d happily welcome him back anytime.
