AHOOOOY MATES

Welcome on board of the Adventures of the Valparaíso!
Please take the time to read the entire profile!

We are an international non-profit community that is passionate about spreading our idea of trust, sustainability and collaboration. Since 2013, travellers, artists and volunteers from all over the world have come here to help us transform a century old ship into a colourful meeting place.
The success of this endeavour has strengthened our belief in a people-centric marketplace and grown our passion for greater adventure. We are now determined, with support from our homebase in the Netherlands, to equip a larger, more seaworthy ship and crew for an international journey of art, music, connection and trade.

We want to create and sustain a collaborative community that focuses on exchanging knowledge, ideas, experience and goods where there is no merchant, only people.
To achieve this goal we are calling upon people with an affection for art and community orientated projects that want to be part of the bigger picture. They are musicians, craftsmen, painters, writers, or just people that want to be involved in something new and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty (but also know when to keep them clean ;) )!
This is an opportunity to live and work alongside like minded people from all paths of life and everywhere over the world to collaborate in something we can only create together. All opinions and ideas count and all voices are heard and encouraged!

Pirates are typically known for looting, raiding and wrecking wherever they went. However, did you know that pirates were also the revolutionaries, the progressives, the explorers? They challenged the existing authority, sailed away from mainstream society and created their own alternative culture and socio-economic structure. As pirates of the Valparaíso, we don’t loot, raid, or wreck. We are here to share, to love, and to connect people. Our organisation is about creating appealing and sustainable solutions for challenging the mainstream consumer culture, while providing a bold alternative of thinking about trade and economics. To us, this is the real essence of piracy: the courage to branch out from established societal norms to explore and create progressive, and exciting pathways. We are inviting you to join us! SKILLS WE URGENTLY NEED ON BOARD: - Builders that know how to work with wood - Electricians ! - Graphic designers ( photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign ) - Film makers - Autonome artists for festivals ( that can teach others too ) UPDATE READ PLEASE! We get more request than we can place! We advise to sign up for the Catfarm! People signing up for the Catfarm will afterwards also be offert a place on the Valparaíso. OUR LATEST PROJECT IN THE SOUTH OF FRANCE https://www.worldpackers.com/locations/the-catfarm Please only sign up if you really want to come on board and collaborate! If you want to visit Amsterdam there are plenty of other places that allow you to do that more than with us! Also no smokey tourists please! We are a hard working community and love what we do. Last but not least! If you really want to come and feel this is your destiny don't hold back and sign up please! We have made this community what it is today because of the many lovely people signing up! Many people decided to live in Amsterdam because of the Valparaíso community and we are quickly growing.

I came two days before the appointed day at Valparaiso boat and they still received me. They treated me very well. We worked hard but it was regarded with a lot of good food, coffees, and amazing people to talk with always.

I volunteered with the boat reparations but also with kitchen hand in a workshop they organized. Met a lot of cool people from all over Europe that came for the workshop.

The team of Valparaiso always asked us if we were tired... If you were tired you could rest anytime.

Thank you so much for the opportunity anq everything Valparaiso and Catfarm community! Love you all
