Anahata Yoga Farm

Incredibly peaceful and private Yoga & farm near a black sand beach and geothermal hot ponds. People come here to enjoy nature, do yoga, and learn about growing food and off-grid living in tropical Hawaii. We live on the part of the island that people call "alternative" - there are several very interesting communities here that host things like a ecstatic dance, yoga, breathwork, drum circles, etc.

Please note: We don't take newby work-traders, you must have at least one Worldpackers experience, (sorry, no first timers).

There are typically 2 to 5 people here at any one time, it's very laid back and tropical, peaceful, quiet, 15 mins to Pahoa town and close to the beach, hot springs, people describe this property as very Zen like! We are totally off-grid, w/refrigerators, electricity in all accommodations, fast Wi-Fi, hot showers, and a composting toilet (life changing experience) - and this is not the Hilton! :)

My time at Anahata Yoga Farm was absolutely amazing! It was a whole experience to be living in the nature like Kai does. The whole area is beautiful, you can really connect with the locals and become part of the community 🫶 Kai was a wonderful host, we got along really well and shared a lot. I highly recommend Kai’s place to anyone who’s willing to live in the jungle and get immersed in nature.

Not sure I’ve ever been in a more mind opening place than Anahata Farm. My experience here was amazing. Kai is a super cool dude who has much to share on endless topics. Connecting to the community, learning about sustainable living, and exploring the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii is just a piece of what you can experience here! Would 100% come back!

I am so grateful for my experience at Anahata Village and recommend this to anyone who wants to broaden their perspectives on life or enjoys learning about sustainable living. I think Kai was a spectacular host who is very honest and up-front but also very laid back and a relaxed dude - super interesting to learn about his life experiences and the wisdom he has picked up over the years. I felt very grounded and connected to nature, as well as the other travelers who I spent my time with here, and recommend this to anyone who wants to learn how to be more present in their lives!

This experience was one that I have never had before. If you want to have an off the grid experience and really want to be one with nature, then this is the place for you. This includes being comfortable with no modern comforts. I really enjoyed this experience, but can say that this is not for everyone. I enjoyed the yoga I learned, and most importantly loved living with the land. Kai is a pleasure to speak too and introduces his guests to many new perspectives. I learned a lot here and would definitely come again given the opportunity. It really was unforgettable!
