Animal shelter Friends

Volunteers can have a lot of new expiriense, hanging with dogs, learn new things, be part of our team that are saving a lot of poor animals from our area and be part of our mission to be The voice for the voiceless.

We have minimum 10 workers and workers will help with everything. We are organise all work, we buy food, pick up new volunteers from bus or train. We dont have much time for company because we are very busy to have all in order but I think that everybody will feel good with us.

This place is something special and what makes it that way is the connections you can make with the dogs. Do know that since Cakovec isn’t really interesting the focus is primarily on volunteering. Which is probably a good thing with over 500 dogs. The staff are super friendly, the amenities are fine and whenever a problem occurred they went out of their way to solve it as quickly as possible.

I’d recommend this place to anyone who is willing to learn more about dogs and wants to contribute. The dogs deserve it.

Bruno and the team were great to work with. They are doing a great job with the shelter and I was glad I could assist. If you love dogs then you should definitely check this opportunity out! We definitely made a positive impact on the dogs during our time here and it was sad leaving. The stay was really fun and enjoyable

Had a great experience! The work that all the volunteers do is incredible, and so rewarding to all the dogs who desperately just want some love! Definitely need to be comfortable with dogs, getting a bit dirty and willing to work hard, but the rewards are so worth it. 500 free cuddles waiting whenever you need them :) if you want to do some volunteering where you can really feel you are doing some good, then I recommend.

I really enjoyed my time in this shelter! It was so fun spending time with the dogs while walking them, brushing them, going around shelter and refilling water or taking care of the puppies. Tasks were easy and understandable. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The dogs are very cute and sweet, they all need so much love and attention so I recommend this experience for everyone who loves and adores dogs, if your thinking about it you should definitely do it! The volunteer accomodation is also very nice!

My experience at the Animal Shelter was great and inspiring. It is a small group of people (19) taking care of over 500 dogs, so everyone is always busy and there is always work to do, including cleaning their cages, taking are of puppies, making sure they all had their waters refilled, brushing them, and mostly walking the dogs assigned to me. I got the chance to meeting wonderful dogs who just needed love and attention.
Everyone working and volunteering at the shelter was amicable and polite. I recommend this experience if you love dogs and would like to make an impact in their lives :-)
