We are a hostel located in New Orleans. We have fantastic reviews and pride ourselves on the relationship we have with our guests. We are always looking for social volunteers who can clean and lead an event one night per week while always maintaining great relationships with our current guests. We do many other activities where we take guests out on the town etc and we expect our volunteers to not just do their work and disappear but to become part of the hostel atmosphere, to eat, have fun, hang out with the guests, and participate in hostel activities.
We are fun people who wants to keep up with the great backpackers environment , party atmosphere and enjoy the Big Easy. Volunteers live in a dorm with only other volunteers.

I loved my experience at the Auberge, Robert and Lucy are amazing hosts and the team of volunteers quickly became a second family to me. The hostel is in a great location and an amazing way to meet so many travelers from around the world. I can’t say enough good things about this place!

Auberge NOLA is an amazing place! It was my first volunteering and I am totally happy and grateful for all the hospitality from Lucy and Robert. I felt very welcome from the first moment, the job was only two days so there was plenty of time to go around the city, the parties with the guests were always very fun and you can make great friends too. New Orleans really surprised me! I definitely want to go back! I totally recommend volunteering here!

I arrived in a windowless dorm with 3 other staff members showing obvious covid symptoms. However, they claimed it was just an allergy. One week later, the new volunteers, including me, tested positive on covid. We were allowed to isolate for a short time, but then, they made us work and have contact with guests, while still being positive. We were not allowed to tell anyone that we (and guests) tested positive so that they could isolate and get tested. Also, hosts are not present. Hostel is completely run by volunteers. Communication via Facebook messenger only.
