We're a family-run business originally from the town, so we'll provide to the volunteers the most local experience with the opportunity to taste portuguese homemade food, to contact with local people and to engage with the portuguese culture.
We're located in a peaceful non-touristic beach town with a great surf vibe and surrounded by natural spots where people can relax and disconnect. This is also a fishermen area, where you'll see a fishing community around and, if you like, taste some fresh fish and seafood.
The staff at Behappy is like family! There's not many formalisms and we strive for a good and friendly work environment, but always with professionalism and responsability. So as a volunteer, you can expect a great welcome and to be treated like part of the family, but of course willing to work and treat the customers with lots of hospitality and a frienldy mood.

As a first time worldpacker I am so happy that this was my first volunteer experience. As a solo female traveler safety is always my #1 priority, I felt safe, comfortable & welcomed into the BeHappy family & the beautiful town of Esmoriz. The hours are respected & the work is easy. Literally 1 minute from the beach there are endless outdoor activities to enjoy. Fransica & Maria are incredible + go above & beyond for you. I made so many friends through our guests & loved getting to know the locals. I only have positive things to say about my time here x Shell ❤️🇨🇦

My time in BeHappy was simply amazing. It was my first volunteer experience and it will be really hard to be topped. Francisca and Maria are incredible people: very friendly, always available and that made me feel welcome from the very first day. The hostel is new and really beautiful, probably the best hostel i’ve ever been to; and Esmoriz it’s a very quiet town where you can relax and be in contact with nature. In conclusion: GO FOR IT!

Staying at the Behappy Lodge&Brunch was my first Worldpackers experience and I couldn’t ask for a better one! The hosts are very welcoming and won’t ever let you down and just in general it’s been always a great working atmosphere. Other than that this place is pretty chill and fun. Great opportunity to get in touch with other travelers, making new friends and even get in touch with the locals. :) I would definitely do it all over again. So don’t miss out on your opportunity to visit such a nice place as Esmoriz in beautiful Portugal!

I had the incredible fortune of spending my volunteer experience with Behappy, and I can only speak positively about this opportunity. From start to finish, everything was exceptionally well-organized, and the entire experience was simply fantastic.
The Behappy team was extremely friendly, professional, and dedicated. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. They ensured that I quickly adapted to the new environment and patiently answered all my questions. Their passion and commitment to their work were evident and truly inspiring.

Be happy will be forever my home away from home. I had and amazing time there and met the most incredible people that I will now consider life long friends. Francisca is a great host and I would 100% recommend volunteering for her. She is super friendly and kind. Esmoriz is a small town but is full of thing to do (surf, enjoy the beach, walk around the town, eat, and more). Plus the work is generally pretty chill and you get to hang out with the guest and be part of their activities.
