Botanical Garden project

We've started a private, botanical garden in the Great Southern of Western Australia. We're looking to attract plant obsessed people who are diligent, active and nice folk.

Previous experience/qualifications in Horticulture/Landscaping are a bonus but not essential. We're in the process of completing a separate accommodation building for our backpackers. This building is a couple of hundred metres from the main cottage, and allows our backpackers greater independence and privacy. Breakfast options are supplied in your room. Lunch and evening meal times will be spent together in the main house. Likely tasks may include; painting, planting, mulching, propagation, watering, pet-sitting, house sitting, and a variety of other tasks as they come up.
A reasonable amount of fitness is required, as well as a positive flexible attitude.

Sharon is a Primary School Teacher. She has a passionate interest in all aspects of early education and in visual art teaching. She maintains all the vegie gardens and chickens. Phil is a Lecturer in Horticulture who's spent decades in a variety of Horticultural Ventures. We are amiable, fun people who work hard but also have fun too.

We really value applicants who supply a video introduction of themselves and are genuinely hard working.

We are also looking for preferably an Oriental Muralist to paint an Oriental Mural on a building in an Oriental Garden. Must be high calibre artwork please. If you know anyone suited to this - please forward it to them.

Due to scammers applying - we've had to apply these conditions;

Applicant has and can prove that they have secured a tourist visa [or similar]. We cannot assist in helping people get a visa.
Applicants should have a travel plan to other locations [so we are not the only stop point but one of many you plan to visit]
Applicants should be planning to arrive soon and/or already in Australia.
Placement is generally two weeks on trial and potential extended stay from their time of visit.

We look forward to welcoming the right guests with open arms.

I had amazing weeks with Sharon and Phil! They are very kind and warm and do everything to make you feel welcome and as a part of their family. Phil taught me a lot about the farm and they both are very patient and educational when teaching things. They showed me around to a lot of places in Albany and Denmark and I met some of their friends and family a few times which was awesome!! Already excited to come back one day!❤️

We really had the best time with Phil and Sharon. The work was pretty fun, and we learned a lot about gardening. We also learned a lot about Aussie culture and loved it. We met a lot of Phil and Sharon's friends, who were really funny. They also have two lovely dogs, they were the cutest! Phil and Sharon drove us around and showed us the beautiful nature of WA. The two weeks were a 20/10 experience, it truly felt like family. Thank you for the experience. we already miss you.

Phil and Sharon welcomed me very warmly!! At first I was very nervous but my feelings have gone away soon. Their meal was yummy. Gardening job was new to me so it was interesting! But sometimes I felt lonely. If you have your own car, you will not feel loneliness.

Phil and Sharon has been welcoming to me since the start . We shared a lot of our respective cultures. Food was organic , nutritious and delicious and there was good wine to top it off. I was also brought to Albany and areas near Mt Barker with spectacular views. The dogs were lovely as well.
