This was my first experience in worldpackers and my first time volunteering ever. The people here are the greatest!! Ahmet is a great man, concerned about your needs and safety, I felt protected at all times, he was like a father to me. The work is easy, hours are flexible and the location is fantastic! This is an old historical building located in the heart of Istanbul so don't expect it not to be cracked, chipped and noisy but it's part of the charm! cleaning in bathrooms could improve. Overall I arrived a volunteer, I left as family. You guys will stay in my heart forever

Unfortunately, my experience at this place was the worst from all of my previous volunteering. Mr Ahmed (the owner) don't really care about the health or the volunteers in general. My bed was shared with other guess (a 12 bed room) and volunteers, but was barely cleaned the room. We don't have a common area where we can talk with each other, cause Mr Ahmed don't want us to be there at their pizza business cause he said several times "customers will not come for your fault" THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE. And several female volunteers told me Ahmed made some sexual jokes... 0% RECOMMENDED

I think it was very nice that they accepted my request directly and were super happy and open about me coming any time. But I guess that was also because they needed people to work for them. At this place it felt more like they just wanted my working hours rather then a good experience and connection. They didn’t have a kitchen or a common room so there wasn’t really a place to meet others. If you are just looking for work and in exchange a bed this place might work for you. But in the end I left half a week earlier because they kept on changing my shifts which also annoyed me.

The experience was really disappointing from the beginning. Starting with the hostel is a very filthy place, they barely have cleaning services, it was a complete nightmare to use the bathroom, and the owner, Ahmet is a very rude and unrespectful person. They said in the ads that you can use the laundry place, the common areas (which is only the restaurant) but it’s a lie, they don’t even give you water for free and Ahmet gets mad even if you’re talking with the other volunteers in the restaurant. It was really uncomfortable and disappointing my stay. Ali was the nicest person in the place 😔
