Working in Ciao Hostel while living in Budapest was for sure one of the best experiences in my life. First of all, the work was not hard and you are almost all the time dealing with people and discovering other cultures. Bálazs and Gabi were always very helpful with everything and they understand our side as volunteers, thank you so much. The guests were so nice and I made some good friends. Related to the structure of the place it can be improved, but it will be for sure an unique experience going to Ciao. Budapest is the best city I've ever been and I can't wait to join Ciao again!
Ciao Hostel is a small hostel, but very cozy. Been small, makes easyer to have a nice atmosphere and be closer to all the guests. Gabi (one of the owners) was very helpful all the time I needed. I believe that the infrastructure can be improved, but considering the limitations, it was a nice experience. I recommend and am grateful for this weeks.
My time in Budapest was amazing! loved this beautiful city and I really want to come back one day. I stayed in Hostel Ciao Budapest for 20 days and I had a great experience! The hostel is small and because of that we get really close to the travelers. This was the best thing for me! I met many people traveling from all over the world, in groups or alone, first time backpackers and long time ones! Learned a lot with each person I met and for that I am really thankful! The hostel needs to improve somethings(especially the bathroom haha) but is a place easy to keep clean and tidy.
It's very well located, next to the tram line that works 24/7. But, since there's no reception, the bad thing is that the worldpacker, sometimes, has to be in the hostel for the whole day, waiting for guests to arrive, which can be a bummer.
Also, I had to ask for the breakfast and felt a little embarassed to do that, because I thought I wouldn't have to do that...
But other than that, the work is really simple and doesn't take a lot of time. And since it's place with space for just about 15 people, it becomes easier to interact with guests.
