Da Bee Hive experience is truly a unique one. This is the ideal work-exchange if you like to camp, enjoy being out in nature, and want a disconnected experience.

The work involved in the exchange is fair and easy. You either work the bee stand (selling products/interacting with customers) or do projects (weeding, gardening, making products, etc.).

I met great people while being on the farm. Just about all the volunteers hung out & explored the island together, especially since we were all around the same age and had similar interests. The managers were also a joy to be around!

The bee hive is an amazing place to be truly! The managers were great, since the moment you get to know them you know that you can relay on them if you're having any problems ¡THEY ARE JUST GREAT! The place is gorgeous, you can literally feel the tranquility and its pretty rural. Talking about transportation and getting to know the island, if you're not renting a car you must start practicing the beauty of hitch hiking and at least being in a bus for 1-2 hours. Food: they give you staples, so be ready to buy food when ever you go to a near by town. The people that I got to meet there were 👩‍🍳👌

I had a great experience at Da Beehive in June 2023. It’s an awesome little community with great people, and the hosts do a great job in creating the experience. Was able to explore so much of the island while I was there and made some great friends. It definitely is rural but that adds to the experience and you definitely get out what you put in.

I had an amazing time, met some great people, and was able to do some really cool things! The location is beautiful and I enjoyed camping. The work was as described. The managers are great and so helpful and accommodating! The main communication is through the managers rather than the host. The food provided is mainly canned food and pasta so you must be prepared to buy your own groceries to get a balanced meal. I truly loved this experience and wished I had more time!!

Da Bee Hive work was fun and rewarding! I was warmly welcomed by the other volunteers and I felt at home straight away. The location is very rural but I think that’s part of the experience / challenge. It’s worth it for the amazing views too. We carpooled with other volunteers, hitchhiked or ran to wherever we needed to go and it worked out perfectly. You definitely need to be okay being dirty as it is basic camping facilities. Similarly, the food provided is only staples so if you want a more nutritious diet you will definitely have to buy your own fruits/veggies! Overall would recommend ☺️
