Dan Hostel
Dan Hostel is located 2 minutes away from Exit 1 of Ximending Subway Station. The transportation is convenient. We are a single-family building. The interior is designed in industrial style. The whole building has bunk beds. There are many buses here. You can reach Jiufen with one bus. 1- 2 stops to Taipei Main Station.
The manager does not speak English, but is happy to share Chinese learning. Most of the counter staff can speak English and can talk to you. We welcome little helpers. We like to make friends and share the big and small things in life.

Good people, good environment.
Nice location.
Easy job, it's a hostel so some days are busier than others.
Starts at 11; changing the bed sheets, swipe and mop the floor, clean the bathrooms, empty the trashcans...
Helpful staff if you need infos of the surrounding.

I had an incredible stay at Dan Hostel !!
The hostel is very well located, whether to visit Taipei or to reach other places to visit in Taiwan.
The planned work missions are respected and are not difficult. The schedule is given in advance, which allows to organize stays of several days outside of Taipei.
Everything is very well organized and I was very well received. The team on site is very vigilant to ensure that everything goes well for the volunteers, they are available, flexible and give good advice !
I could not have dreamed of better to discover Taiwan in such good conditions !

I really liked my stay in Dan Hostel, the location is excellent and the accommodations are really comfortable. The work is not hard but there’s days you end up working 2 hours while others 4 hours, depends in the amount of tasks. In general it was a great experience.

I really enjoyed working at the Dan Hostel for two months. The hours and duties are not onerous, consistently mostly of cleaning and changing bedding. As with all places where there is not a common language, sometimes communication can fail, but if you ask for clarification, the staff are pretty good about helping you understand. You have plenty of opportunity to visit the city and surrounding area; the hostel is very conveniently located near a subway station and bus stops, so travel is easy. Overall, this was a good volunteer gig.

I had an amazing time at Dan Hostel!! I stayed there for almost a month and May and the team were so welcoming. As a female volunteer, I stayed on the 4th all female floor and accommodation was very comfortable. The work tasks were mainly making beds, and clean common area/restroom. The work can be more and busy on the weekends but manageable. Location is great and a 3-5 min walk to Ximen Crossing which is great for shopping and food. Overall, I would come back and volunteer here again!

He was a fantastic work exchange member at our hostel! He was always punctual and took his responsibilities seriously. His attention to detail was impressive, and he consistently carried out tasks with care and thoroughness. On top of that, He had a great attitude, was friendly with the team, and contributed positively to our environment. We truly appreciated having him with us.
