Deepdale Farm

This is a good place to practice English as you will be conversing on the bar with English people. It’s also surrounded by beautiful countryside so it would suit somebody wanting to be in nature. It would also suit somebody who is interesting in working in events.

We have volunteered for many years and we are always interested to meet new people. We need help with setting up the venue from March to May, so cleaning it, planting flowers, painting furniture and so on, someone who is happy to do different tasks. We won’t expect you to do many hours, around 2 - 3 a day 5 days a week will be fine. Come May volunteers can help on the bar if they feel confident enough to, this is a great atmosphere and good for practicing your English. Volunteers will have their own separate accommodation in a mobile caravan with its own bed and kitchen, you won’t be expected to share unless you’re travelling with a friend. We will provide food for day time meals but aim to cook a group evening meal most evenings. We also have horses here so if you are confident around horses you can help the girls with the horses they keep here and to be around them. A good bus connection to Pickering Malton york and Scarborough to visit lots of beautiful places is close by.

It has been a great experience volunteering at the farm. The working hours are more intense in wedding´s time, but the rest of the time is relaxed. Agreed schedules and days off are respected. Charlotte and Jim are great people. They have made me feel like family and have taken care of me at all times to make sure I was well.
I have improved my English a lot! Im happy to have been there.
The farm is far from the village, making it a lovely place to relax and listen to the birds singing at dawn.
I would recommend it 100%.
