Dragonfly Ranch:Healing Arts Center in Kona Hawaii

Our beautiful indoor/outdoor accommodations attract people from all over the world! The activities include snorkeling, diving, kayaking, hiking, yoga, etc. We are situated on the southern side of Kona - only 3 minutes drive from the best snorkeling beach on the Big Island called "Two Steps". We are 19 miles away from the heart of Kailua-Kona, so if you are interested in what the city has to offer, then our Ranch is probably not suited to your needs. Since we have our own little community of wonderful people, no one seems to mind that we are in the county, away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and city business.

As the "Ohana" team, we are a family of about 10 people who love to enjoy life and work together cooperatively - in loving harmony. In exchange for your 25 hours per week help you will receive the following: - Basic accommodations - Grains (Rice, Quinoa, Oat Meal) - Variable spices (for cooking) - Greens from the garden (subject to availability) - Purified filtered water - Free internet with Wifi - Clothes washing facilities - Access to extended library - Use of snorkeling gear for the first week - Linens, towels, and toilet paper Job Titles and Expectations: Here at Dragonfly Ranch, we love to have multifaceted beings who can jump straight into projects with little guidance. We are making major changes here as we begin our journey into becoming a non-profit organization - An educational center for sustainable living and slowly phasing out of the B&B business. We hope to attract students who are willing to learn and teach sustainable living. We want passionate people who see themselves living a healthy and eco-friendly lifestyle in and out of Dragonfly Ranch. We may ask you to do things outside of your job title on occasion. Those with the following skills are a plus: - permaculture - agriculture - gardening - Biophilic design - Ayurveda or any kind of healthy cooking passion - teachers / coaches - social media - marketing - videography Housekeeping: We have two shifts - 7AM - 1PM AND 11PM - 5PM each intern will be under the supervision of a housekeeping manager (permanent residents of Dragonfly Ranch) and can go to them for any questions or concerns. a lovely place with the most amazing group of interns! this place draws in great people. definitely outdoor rustic living but that’s what makes it great. amazingly close to a beautiful snorkel spot and has the most fantastic views of the ocean!

It was my first Worldpackers' experience and it was awesome. I met the most incredible volunteers who make this place and community a beautiful place. They are the most lovable and compassionate people I've met. Managers are very nice and helpful.
Work hours and days off are respected. Work load is fine, it's the heat that makes it feel like a lot.
Information about the place should be updated in the page. There aren't yoga or dance classes at the moment. It's a nice place but I think it needs more organization.
If you can't stand rats, big spiders or gecko poo, it's not the place for you!

I had life time experience in Dragonfly. I'll always be grateful being the part of this amazing family. Everyone is so kind and knowledgeable. Felt like home from the very first day. They'll make sure that you have the best and feel comfortable during your stay. I get to learn lot about housekeeping, farming and food. Also met lot of wonderful interns while I was there.

This experience is great for the right type of person. The host would also benefit greatly to have the right minded type of person who wants to make a difference be part of the internship. It's one thing to go and do the job listed and another thing to go and truely make a difference and an impact on what they are trying to achieve. That being said, I found it to be an enlightening experience. I met great people and left with new knowledge. Be ready for hard work, communal living, and an open mind!

It was my first experience living abroad and choosing Dragonfly was very special!
To come, you need to be prepared to be in the jungle and we are far from the city. but it's Worth. I promise!
I will keep in my heart the great connection made with everyone in this great family.
My gratitude to host Barbara and a warm thanks to manager Anita and our wonderful team of interns
I broke my foot and had to anticipate my return to Brazil, but the support and affection I received was wonderful.
I miss you!
