Dreamsea Costa Rica

The value and impact within our volunteer program for a volunteer can come in the form of meshing human connection and merging cultures. We often times have over 25+ countries represented in camp, and we encourage all to share their culture, passions, and talents with one another via workshops/classes.

That purpose, while rooted in that human connection, is layered with an emphasis on self-sustainability, an eco-conscious approach, embracing cultural exchange, exploration, adventure, and an active lifestyle.

Volunteers can expect to be treated with open arms. Social barriers and judgement are non-existent within the camp and staff, and a volunteer can simply be themselves while being surrounded by others who are doing the same.

Hi đź‘‹
This was my first Worldpackers experience and it was a blast!! I met the most amazing people in this place and will for sure come back one day!! I was here during low season so I don’t know if everything is the same in high season. The tasks you get as a volunteer are pretty easy and don’t take much time. You’ll get a lot of beach days here and there’s great surf instructors to learn how to surf. If you like to party this is also the place to be.
All in all a great experience and I will miss the people I met here deeply!
I hope you choose to come to this place, it’s worth it!!

The experience depends on what your expectations are.
Perfect for learning how to surf, meeting people, partying. Most people are from USA/Canada.
Jobs are easy and well defined.
Dorms are OK, defo bring a mosquito net.
Flunky ball is super fun but also expensive.(23$).
Beach excursions were nice.
Waterfall excursion was totally worth it, soo much cheaper than doing it on your own.
Good surf instructors.
Foods were amazing, kinda repetetive but they were local and always tasty. Some days beakfast and dinner was enough food for the day.
Camp and Tamarindo are both very expensive.

The other travelers you meet are really what makes this experience amazing. When I got there, morale was a bit down (people who’d been there longer said it was great beforehand). Some of the staff were amazing and super friendly people, others not so much. The nature here is beautiful and you can have a lot of fun here! This place is especially great if you love partying! Biggest downside for me was the meals, My friends and I constantly got food poisoning. Sleeping on mold wasn’t great either but that’s what comes with humidity and open rooms. Also! all the excursions are super expensive.

I had an amazing experience at DreamSea, it was my first solo travelling experience so I was nervous about what it was going to be like but everyone I met was very friendly and welcoming. I learned to surf, met about a hundred travellers from all over the world many of which I will be staying in touch with and travelling with in the future. The camp is located in the rainforest so show up prepared for that and you will have no problems. The jobs were easy and did not take away from any of the activities around camp. Thanks again for DreamSea having me, best summer ever.
