Ecotura

We are located on the only National Park of Portugal, Peneda-Gerês, surround of pure nature and wild animals.
We are a family company that loves animals, and we moved from the capital, Lisbon, to the mountains, chasing our dream.
When we receive our guests, we treat them like family, and this is one of the things that makes the difference, and when you meet our horse family you will fall in love :P

Our Worldpackers will be treated like family, and they will be well received. We will share knowledge and for sure they will have an amazing time at our place

Mariana and Pedro were very good hosts, always answered any questions we had and gave us tips on places to go in the local area. Overall the work is very simple and clearly explained so after a couple of days it's easy to get the work done on time. All the horses were lovely and clearly very loved and well cared for.
I got the opportunity to ride during the stay which was amazing, the location is very pretty with impressive views.

I had a great time at ecotura- Pedro, Mariana and Lise were all so lovely. They normally always have two volunteers as the farm is quite remote, but the other cancelled last minute - so they really tried their best to involve me in their lives and make sure I wasn’t alone!
The horses are all lovely and very well looked after, as well as 11 dogs and a cat as well. There are lots of nice walks in the area and the waterfall is amazing.
Accommodation is in a caravan opposite to the house and stable and they provide food for you to cook in the caravan.
I also had some riding lessons too!!

This was my first volunteer trip and it was fantastic! The host gets to know the volunteers a lot and tries to make sure they have everything they need. The farm is very cozy and there are lots of animals . The animals are in good condition and love to cuddle, especially the dogs. Some of the highlights I did apart from the farm was see ruins from a castle, two waterfalls, walks in the nature, go to cafe and visit their church. Sometimes you can also get a lift from the host. When it comes to the work, it is very easy and you get clear instructions and help with what to do.

I had a really good first volunteer experience at Ecotura! The whole family was always super nice to me and everyone was always willing to help.
The work is very easy and simple once you get into the rhythm and the animals are all lovely and very well taken care of! You'll have a lot of free time to read, go to the waterfalls or the main town and just enjoy the beautiful nature that surrounds the farm. I really hope I can someday go back to this place that brought me so much peace and happiness♥️

Even though my stay was short since i had to leave earlier because of family stuff my experience there was amazing
Mariana, Pedro and the rest of the family were very friendly and always willing to help
the place is located in beautiful mountains with amazing views
You need to be prepared for colder nights and some bugs since its a farm and it’s always colder in the mountains
id recommend it especially if you’re going for the first time🫶🏻
