When you aren't working, you can enjoy the many beautiful sights and activities in and around Essaouira! We are right next to the beach, so you can enjoy a swim or surf easily. We have bicycles you can take around the city. The Medina is a nice 10 minute walk if you want to explore there/shop/hang out. There is also a Carrefour 10 minutes walk away to take care of any grocery store needs. There are restaurants, shops and bars around the hostel. Lastly, we always have our terrace, which will probably end up being your favorite place to hang out anyway! You can enjoy the sunset while listening to the staff play guitar, sing, and chat about the day.
The staff here comes from all parts of Morocco, and we can teach whatever you'd like to know about Morocco culture. If you want to work on your Arabic, we can help with that! Our staff is multilingual - Arabic, English, Spanish, French, and much more, but we're always looking to improve. We would love for you to exchange some your culture and language as well!

Essaouira Beach Hostel was my first volunteering gig & I can‘t imagine a better place to do it! The staff was super friendly, chatty & very patient with me. I was mostly helping in the kitchen, waitressing & cleaning the dishes. The work was quite easy. Working times were alternating with another volunteer & they didn’t mind if we switched our shifts or started a little later/earlier.
On the rooftop you‘ll always find someone to chat with, so you‘ll never be alone.
Over all a great experience that I would never want to miss!

Nina, she was a very valued member of our team at the hostel, she emersed herself into the work, the staff and many other things in Essaouira! she was a hard worker, always making herself busy and helping others. We reccomend Nina to anyone - She has a big heart and is welcome back at our hostel anytime!

I had an amazing time at Essaouira Beach Hostel! The staff is very welcoming and made me feel like part of the family from day one. I enjoyed life at the hostel as well as outside at the beach and in the Medina of Essaouira. I will definitely come back.

Alix was a great volunteer, unfortunately she couldn't stay longer with us but for sure we would have her back. She's always with a smile on her face ready to face any challenge, with a very positive atitude on life and work. She did mainly reception and bar work and had no problem at all doing it since first day 1. Thank you for all your help Alix !!!

My time in Essaouira has been quite special. The hostal is big and beatiful, the beach is just 2 minutes walking. The hostal has a lot of international guests, so, I could practice and improve my english and also learned a little of arabic language. I mainly worked on painting, organizing and helping in the kitchen. The volunteer include two foods, but usually they gave me three foods and its delicious. . Oussama and people working there are amazing people, open-minded and full of positive energy. I hope to meet you again!

Felipe applied for painting the walls.He agreed to work for whatever we needed!! Felipe is calm agreat happy man who speaks spanish was easy to contact with him!! . He is a really nice man who really helped us. I would recommend him. He cleaned the majority of the time he was here and helped with painting the walls and kitchen. good vibe !!
