Eugene Hostel

We love supporting travelers from all over the world! A home for Artists, our hostel is filled to the brim with the art, music, and talents of years of work traders from every country imaginable. Located in the heart of the Whiteaker neighborhood, you are minutes away from the river, shopping, bars, restaurants, hiking, rock climbing, yoga and more! We have a Broadway theatre and endless cultural activities just a short bike ride away in downtown. We have bikes for our traders, and ensure 3-4 days off per week so you can truly get out and explore the skiing, climbing, hiking, beach, and city life all within 1 hour of Eugene.

Team board games, picnics, ski trips, camping, movie nights, and more!

You're traveling to experience, and Brenna (our owner, still in her 20s) gets that. Come stay with our family in our cozy little home!

We don't believe in sandwiching in traders and working you to the bone. Our hostel common areas are closed to guests every night to allow work traders space and time to themselves. We are working on plans to build yurts, icosa huts, RVs, and more in our backyard space to give every more flexibility to traders. We have a community garden you can tend and pick if you so chose, and we have yet to fail in honoring a request for time off. If you are sick, we are happy to put you up in our icosa hut for you to get better. You don't have to worry about being kicked out or left behind around here if you get sick or have an emergency come up. We ask for hard work, passion, and a willingness to create (systems, artwork, you name it!), and you'll find us here giving the same. ***Apr 22 2023: We currently have a management position available for longer term traders. So there is opportunity to move up the ladder depending on the candidate/qualifications.***

Very appreciative of my experience in Eugene as my first world packers trip. I'm even more grateful of the people I met and the experiences we shared together as people that work at the hostel and those that volunteered were all absolutely wonderful to spend time with. The work isn't difficult and fairly straightforward and everyone is keen to help and easy to work with. Eugene is a very bike able city and many places around the hostel are within walking distance. Great hikes, lakes, and the coast are all within a reasonable distance and are beautiful. No doubt will miss my time spent here.

My only regret is not staying longer. What a special place! The long-term team (managers + maintenance) values your individuality and makes you feel so welcome (plus, they're all hilarious!!) The hostel was cosy and artsy (coolest vibe ever). I ADORED the other Worldpackers I met there. You get four days off to explore the beautiful areas around you - hot springs, big trees, sand dunes, waterfalls...I love Oregon and I love Eugene Hostel!!! Apply apply apply!!

ZO. My gosh, all your little gifts are still around the hostel, and we miss your giant onions (literal onions you picked with all the other produce) and lovely personality. You are truly one of a kind.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! This was my first work exchange and I couldnt ask for a better place.
The managers are great, super communicative and flexible and they are always worried about your experience. I felt super welcomed by the staff, they are amazing people too and and we got along instantly.
This place is great for hiking near by (a lot of waterfalls and huge trees!), biking around the city, go to river or just chill in the hostel with the rest of the staff or the guest (they are super cool too).
Forever grateful for the experience and the people that i met over there <3

I have had one of the best summers of my life and I’m so glad to have spent part of it here!

As soon as I arrived I felt right at home. The place was easy to find, the facilities were clean and functional and the hostel had a great cozy feel to it. But it was so much more than that! The staff here are some of the loveliest I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and all the Worldpackers felt like a family that welcomed me with open arms. I really do hope I can come back here someday, as I know I’m going to miss it like HELL.

Thank you, Eugene Hostel :)
