I had an amazing time in San Juan with the Fortel team, I felt very welcomed. Carlos has great communication skills and is very honest and direct with what’s need, also he is very flexible to make sure you have a great time in PR.
Hostel is not big which is great from my perspective as keeps everything more simple and easy going.
You will be the only volunteer, but most of the guest are friendly and you will find someone to hang around.
I will definitely plan to come back.

This experience was super fun and really easy work. The location was super good with beaches near by and the city was super nice. The manager carlos was super great and was awesome with all the voluteers. Definitly a good community to be a part of!

Amazing experience! Carlos made it even more enjoyable. He is very flexible, understanding, he prepared a Christmas dinner for the volunteers, drove us to tours around San Juan, helped me when I got sick and when I needed to travel, making adjustments to the work schedule as needed. He also helped me with socializing with other volunteers from other hostels since here there’s only 1 volunteer at a time. The tasks are fair, simple and manageable. The hostel is located in the BEST spot! I highly recommend this experience!

The only problem I had was the transportation to rainforest/ferry. You have to find other people to go with since there is no cheap way to get there. If you are wanting a beachy/city/night life vibe this is the place for you! The old town is beautiful!Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend coming here during low season as I got quite lonely, struggled to find people to go on activities with since I was the only volunteer and there were few people staying here. Carlos was nice but I didn’t have an experience with him like the other reviews mentioned! The work was extremely easy!
