Friends Hostel

Our place is very social and familiar and we help each other making the things great here.
The volunteers beside helping us will have the possibility to know other people and to experience more from Albania. Also two times a week we organize exiting day trips in the sorroundings.

Volunteering in our place is like feeling at home. We like to promote our culture and our native language too and we also think that in our hostel there is place for everyone.

My time at friends hostel was one I will never forget! The family is so kind, friendly and caring, they really make you feel safe, comfortable and loved. I strongly recommend that you volunteer here you will love it with all your heart as I did. From the delicious meals to incredible view this was an amazing stay! These are some of the kindest people I have met, they are are more than happy to help you navigate Albania and the many different cities along with teaching you about various parts of local culture.They truly make you feel like you are apart of the family. I will miss them dearly!!

My time at Friends Hostel was lovely, Evisa and her family made me feel very welcome from the first day. The tasks were easy and the times were respected as agreed.
I can only say good words to this experience, the food always amazing, the most comfortable bed ever, an amazing view every day and they even helped me with winter clothes. I’ll be forever thankful to them 💕

I don't have enough words to describe this experience. First of all, they made me feel like a member of the family. They prepared typical food to share with me, always invited me to eat with them, and, of course, I was very happy to be able to enjoy the grandmother's breakfast.
I adored the little curly-haired and beautiful baby (crespita) she was cute. I love her. 😍The tasks were really easy, and Evisa was always very patient and helpful in teaching me. It's an amazing opportunity to practice English and learn about this culture with this sweet family. I miss you a lot, my second family.

I absolutely loved staying at Friends Hostel - it’s the nicest hostel I have ever been to with the sweetest family! I had an incredible time and every day was so lovely here. I had a great time meeting guests from all over, hosting rooftop happy hours, hanging with the family (and the dogs), and getting to know the wonderful locals in Gjirokaster. Plus I got to learn a little bit of Albanian! You will be spoiled with lots of delicious food, homemade wine, comfy beds, and fun day trips with Landi and his jeep. I truly can’t thank them enough, and I consider them all my family 😊❤️

I absolutely loved my volunteering time here! I was only here for two weeks but it felt like I was part of the family for ever. The work was great, we helped each other do the tasks that needed doing. Which were mainly changing the beds when guests left, washing and general tidying of areas. The food was absolutely amazing. I was never hungry and they provided so much food. I loved the family so much and I have some great memories here.
If you’re looking for a loving, relaxing volunteer time, I would 100% recommend.
