Fursa Projects - The White House of Tanzania

Fursa projects have a primary focus on having a sustainable and ethical impact on the community and placements we work with. As such, your program does have set guidelines and key focuses that ensure the people you work with are protected, their needs are put first, the community remains at the forefront of development and to ensure a that volunteers continually contribute to long-term, overarching goals. Unlike most other programs, Fursa Projects operates as any NGO project would, where we build our programs based on in-depth needs assessment with the local community, structures to measure our program's success, and guidelines that govern the work of volunteers.

On any program with Fursa Projects, you will be staying at The White House of Tanzania Hostel. The White House of Tanzania is one of the coziest and most homely hostels in Arusha, which is a great place to meet new friends and other travelers. Since day one the staff have had impeccable work ethics, which have led to several awards including some from TripAdvisor awards, latest the Travellers Choice Award 2018 for Best Arusha hostel. We have great experience with accommodating guests of all ages and nationalities and groups of all sizes. Our hostel consists of various room types differing from double rooms, rooms with separate beds in various sizes and family rooms of 2, 3 or 4 people as well as shared dorm-rooms of 7 people – all with private en-suite bathrooms. There are several featured amenities, including: - Bar on-site - Laundry Service - Fast Wifi - Airport Transfers - Pool Table and weekly events - Warm Showers - Daily Activities and Safaris - Breakfast Included The White House is located in the beautiful area Njiro, which is not far from either Arusha and Kilimanjaro Airport. I will never forget my time at The White House of Tanzania :) Lucy and Jr were amazing hosts (even helping me plan a 3 day safari where I saw the big 5!) They easily become very close friends who do everything to make sure your stay is comfortable and memorable. The kitchen staff is also amazing. The beds are good, they have wifi (if you work from home like me), and the hostel is in a nice neighborhood.
* I highly suggest scheduling a 3 day Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater safari!* This was a trip I will never forget :)

First of all: Tanzania is an amazing country! From the point you get used to how things work here, you will LOVE it. People here are more than friendly and you’re welcome everywhere most of the time!
Second: Working with Dr. Evarest was the most life changing experience I ever had. He is one of the nicest people I know. Working with him and the other volunteers at the shelter made me extend my stay until the 15th of September.
Also the White House is the perfect place to stay in Tanzania. It’s a cozy little hostel and you will get anything you need or more if you ask politely.
Asante sana!
