Happy Healing Home

For those who want to learn about Buddhist old teaching and Lanna culture, we welcome you with open arms. We work meaningful jobs, eat farm grown sustainable food and enjoy traditional music everyday. All this will be shared with you and we guarantee that you will learn more that you can imagine.

We live our lives according to the Lanna cultural way. Lanna culture as been around for more than 7 centuries and it has deep roots in The Northern Thailand communities and most importantly in Happy Healing Home. We treat our volunteers like family because we accept those who accept our culture and our way of living.

We enjoyed everything about this volunteer experience. I learned so much about sustainability and agriculture than I thought possible. Pinan Jim and Pinan Tea were so pleasant and easy to work with. I absolutely loved the food, it was fresh and came with a feeling of accomplishment as we often picked our herbs and vegetables for meals. I would recommend this assignment to anyone wanting to get in touch with nature or to even just get back in touch with themselves.

My time at Happy Healing Home was really peaceful and a nice break!

Pinan Jim & Pinan Tea were both very lovely people, and it definitely felt homely the longer I stayed :) The food was simple yet really delicious too!

The work is very minimal, usually from about 9-12, with no forced work. If you aren’t feeling it for the day, they won’t force you to do anything at all. It was very laidback and I felt comfortable with everything we did, sometimes planting avocado seeds or transporting mulch onto garden beds.

Overall, it’s a really peaceful spot, I recommend bringing a book too.

Our stay at Happy Healing Home was deeply rewarding. Nestled in the Chiang Mai mountains, we were welcomed like family. The volunteer work, from clearing bamboo for a rain-catching system to gardening, was both engaging and satisfying. Each task allowed us to see the impact of our efforts. Evenings were filled with delicious Lanna-style meals and cultural exchanges. The warmth of Pinan Jim and his family made us feel truly at home. We left with new skills, cherished memories, and a global family. Highly recommended!

My experience at Happy Healing Home was amazing! The farm is such a peaceful and welcoming environment. Truly a great place connect with nature, yourself and other travelers. I expected to learn more about meditation, Buddhism, and yoga, but it seems Pinan Jim doesn’t teach like he once did. Although Pinan Jim and Pinan Tea are very kind and welcoming. In the future it would be great to see some more lead teachings on subjects like Buddhism, Lanna culture, bio construction, or permaculture. Although my expectations within learning about these things wasn’t meant I still recommend staying here

Our experience at the Happy Healing Home was really enriching. We didn’t have much experience with farm work so it was really interesting to learn about permaculture and take part in the day to day gardening. The facilities are basic but have everything needed to have a comfortable stay and was a lovely change from what we are used to. The food was incredible! Pinan Tea is such a great cook and teacher. Pinan Jim is also a very interesting man we especially loved his singing! All in all it was a fab experience and we just wish we had stayed longer! Thanks again😊
