Happy Healing Home

For those who want to learn about Buddhist old teaching and Lanna culture, we welcome you with open arms. We work meaningful jobs, eat farm grown sustainable food and enjoy traditional music everyday. All this will be shared with you and we guarantee that you will learn more that you can imagine.

We live our lives according to the Lanna cultural way. Lanna culture as been around for more than 7 centuries and it has deep roots in The Northern Thailand communities and most importantly in Happy Healing Home. We treat our volunteers like family because we accept those who accept our culture and our way of living.

I went back and forth with enjoying the experience to hating it. Pinan Jim has a lot of knowledge to bring but I felt like his teaching was very harsh at points (physically taking things out of my hand without explanation he would just finish it, grading me on philosophical answers to random questions) went from positive praise to unkindly comparing me to other volunteers and back. Thought maybe it was me or a cultural thing but his wife was extremely kind (didn’t get to spend much time with her sadly) left a month early because I felt like I was going crazy with some of the gas lighting/li

This was truly a meaningful experience. I would be happy to go back because I still have so so much more to learn.
Pinan is serious about teaching so I highly recommend to stay for a longer time to really understand deeply. Only my two weeks has changed my way of thinking and I will bring back some useful tools to deal with life in Norway. Pinan has a big heart, a special mind and he cares deeply about teaching. We cooked together and I ate some really delicious food. Even the bike rides through nature felt healing!

HHH is an opportunity to get out of your comfort zone as a western tourist and learn more about the life of people of the Lan Na community. Pinan has lot of knowledge about medical herbs, buddism, guitar playing, traditional cooking, local languages, survival skills... He welcomes questions and is eager for you to learn from him to his own pace. He hosted a lot of volunteers in his life and he speaks openly about what he thinks. The workload is fair and there's plenty of time to rest in the afternoons. I'm grateful for what I've learned.

Happy Healing Home is a place where you can truly heal. Pinan Jim and Pinan Tea are becaons of light who will never run out of things to teach you. Even though I was only here for one week, this has definitely been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life and has shifted my perspective in ways I could have never imagined. No matter who you are, there will be something for you to learn from Happy Healing Home :))
