Since we opened in 2016, we've been able to host some amazing guests who have helped us land as D.C's top rated hostel all thanks to our amazing staff and their dedication to making the HighRoad a fun, safe, unique experience for all.

We know that a happy team leads to happy guests. Plus we only would want to work at a place that is fun and respectful of team members. We try very hard to make sure we do things right both for our team and our guests. As a volunteer, you'll be greeted by our entire team and welcomed with open arms to join our team. You'll always know what's expected of you, and you'll report to one of our full time managers. We will also make sure you have training here so that you can always be confident that its clear what the expectations are for the volunteer position. Here at the HighRoad, our volunteer program is mostly guest service focused where our volunteers help assist with day to day desk tasks which includes but is not limited to: checking guests in, checking guests out, assisting with directions and city recommendations, helping with public transportation questions and more! Get a chance to get to know Washington D.C while also immersing yourself around like-minded travelers and sharing experiences along the way.
