Home Stay with incredible Cooking Classes!

If you are interested in healthy eating and wishing to learn cooking while you help us this is the right place for you. We do cooking classes to tourists and teach Turkish Home Cooking, you will meet many foodies from all over the world. Our location is great we are at a place where you can enjoy the beaches, Bodrum down town aswell as vineries and farms around us.

We do these cooking classes in our home, my husband is an artist and he does the painting classes, we have three adult sons, who live abroad and come to visit from time to time. You will be a guest in our home , and will be asking you to help us with the daily work, this can sometimes be washing the dishes, talking to people, helping the people rolling dolma's or watering the garden. We have two dogs and a cat that live with us not in the house but in the garden.

Danke🥰

I left early, as this experience didn’t work for me. Beyond the cooking class, you were expected to work as a server at a restaurant. Sometimes up to twelve hour days.

I want to preface this by saying that I enjoyed my time here, but there are some problems with this job that need to be discussed

1. Communication and organization are lacking. Even the description of this job on Worldpackers is wrong ( in the summer you work in a winery in Bodrum)

2. The room they gave me was really rough; it was dirty, had a broken toilet, no wifi, no drinkable water, no communal kitchen, and poisonous scorpions.

I wish I could go into more detail, but this app only gives so much space. Again, I liked working here, these are just some observations to take into account

This was mostly a nice experience. The food was delicious, the house was lovely and everyone I met was very kind. However I often felt like I didn’t know what was going on. There was a lack of communication about when I would be working. Also there were some very long days. I did one 12 hour one and only got two stops for 15 mins each to eat.
The current description is also misleading. I had a roommate for half my stay even though it says you get a private room. There was also no bike ready for use and I worked half of the time at a vineyard restaurant not at the cooking classes.

Asli has a wonderful home and it was inspiring to watch her run her business. The rest of the team is kind, funny, and you’ll learn a lot about working in a kitchen and eat lots of good food. Location is so beautiful, full of nice beaches and Turkey’s public transport is pretty easy to navigate + you’ll get a ride when possible. Hours are good, agreed upon and I liked the work. Beautiful, balanced experience that I would recommend and do again.
