We live next to the Caribbean Sea in the small beach town of El Porvenir, Atlantida, Honduras. Our community is friendly and beautiful! We operate volunteer-powered programs to improve literacy for impoverished children in both Spanish and English.
The Honduras Child Alliance depends on volunteers to help operate our projects. Volunteers of any nationality, race, religious or ethnic background are welcome to participate. We work together to reinforce basic academic skills while enhancing development of critical thinking and decision-making capabilities. By fostering positive creative expression, leadership talents and team building, we nourish confidence and self esteem. Our programs include teaching English as a second language so our children can pursue education and employment opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable. Our programs are provided at no cost to the children or their families.
