Hostellicious

Our hostel is the biggest in the Algarve! Accommodating people from all over the world, we ended up creating a place with a relaxed, fun, with an diversity and transformative energy. We have several partners that propose different activities to fully enjoy the best of the Algarve. An opportunity not to be missed.

The Worldpackers team is part of our way of being and be at the Hostel. All the work and fun is shared between everyone! From our daily activities to our event nights, we do it all in a team spirit! Volunteers are accommodated in a building right next to the Hostel, which is also our property, which has shared rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and laundry.

I had a great time staying at Hostellicious. The staff is lovely and make you feel home. The work was as it was agreed. The only point that could be improve would be the communication and the planning of the shift. But I definitly recommend that experience !

I had a great time in Faro. my arrival was very chaotic and no one knew I was arriving even though I texted with Hostellicious on WhatsApp. I arrived at Hostellicious but was sent to Casa d'alagoa because there's the room for the volunteers. Very small, no windows, no bed curtains, you can't lock the door, noisy air conditioning. There is a fixed work schedule, you work in both hostels, instructions for housekeeping not always clear because the cleaning staff only speak Portuguese. I Had to make pancakes twice a week, which was great. If there were any problems,a solution could always be found

Faro is an authentic portuguese town. It gets a bit repetitive but you can easily go to other cities on your days off. Despite applying for Hostellicious, I had to move to their sister hostel Casa D Alagoa. The room was too small for 4 volunteers without a window (but AC). The facilities were great and clean. Because of the language barrier the housekeeping was hard at times. I liked the dinner shifts the most, as I could socialize with the guests and was responsible for good vibes. There were some organization issues that could be improved. Will never forget this special experience, obrigada!

My time at Casa d'Alagoa was awesome! It was my first time ever volunteering/travelling abroad, and I'm very happy to have been with the Hostellicious team. Work is split between housekeeping and dinner/breakfast shifts. The housekeeping is hard! But it goes by fast and the housekeeping staff are very kind. Bring water, fan, bandaids! The dinner shifts are super fun, social and engaging with delicious food. The room at Casa is hot! Communication between staff/volunteers was sometimes unclear, but the team is great and easy to work with. Overall I had an amazing time, can't wait to go back! :D

Obrigada!
