Our property offers unique, off-the-grid, eco-conscious , seasonal rental accommodations on private property along the Bras d'Or Lake on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. We have pristine views of surrounding ponds and lakes that can be explored by kayak, canoe or stand-up paddle board. St Peter's is a quaint little village 20kms away, that has everything you need and hosts festivals and fun events all season long.

In the photo gallery you will see photos us participating in the Pirate Days Parade, which takes place in St Peter's every Sept; views of our ponds and beaches; our children helping us out with clearing and building on our property; and the studio where our volunteers will stay, located off of the farm house which will also be a rental accommodation next season. Please note, we will be adding a small kitchenette and shower to the studio over the winter.

We are free spirited, nature enthusiasts, who want to share our beautiful piece of Cape Breton Island with like minded people. We are three owners of Kayak Cape Breton, Matt and Aaron are brothers who are expanding on their grandfather's land, where they spent their summers for for the past 30 years. Katie, Matt's wife, was born and raised on Cape Breton Island and was thrilled to move back to Island life and unwind after 17 years of the city hustle and bustle. Aaron still resides in Toronto, ON until the time is right for him, and his partner Brendon, to retreat back to this spectacular 70 acres. Until then , they visit several times a year. Volunteers can expect to be treated with great respect and as our friend! We are very accommodating and understanding. Also, we are super excited about this unique opportunity, not only to help us with our business but to meet some interesting and adventurous people and maybe even make life long friends!
