Kings Valley Gardens

John and I work closely with our volunteers and love to share our knowledge of organic farming and gardening as well as food and culture.
For you nature lovers--we're right next to a wildlife refuge and a beautiful river with an absolutely amazing swimming hole!

We've worked with farm volunteers for over 20 years. We work directly with people as much as possible, and strive to provide a warm and appreciative atmosphere as well as an interesting variety of work. We also take time to make sure you're comfortable in your accommodations.

Andrea and John have made Kings Valley such a special place to visit! They were incredibly inviting, warm, and had so much to teach. The work was extremely rewarding and i felt great every day after work. There is a nice swimming hole down the street and beautiful hikes near by to spend time when we weren’t working. Even though i only stayed a week, i left feeling refreshed and inspired! This was my first world packers experience and i would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in nature/ wants to learn about sustainable living and organic growing:)

The experience in kings valley was amazing, I had the pleasure to met Andrea and John. They are wonderful people who are always willing to teach all they know. I can say we share dinners, conversations and hikes that I’ll never forget. Cook together was other of my favorite things, we always had fresh vegetables and herbs coming from the garden. The job was rewarding and varied. I would like to come back one day! I recommend to come here if you want to learn a lot and slow down your life a little bit.

I spent 2 weeks at Kings Valley with John and Andrea and it was an amazing experience! I learned so much about gardening and had the opportunity to eat what was harvested. We ate most of our food from the garden, and John even makes his own bread! The work is super rewarding, and we never worked over the 25 hours listed on their profile. Andrea was very flexible with us about how we spread that time out if we needed to make changes. Would definitely recommend to anyone who’s looking to live and eat more sustainably!

Andrea and John were great hosts, and provided a good glimpse of life on the farm. There were a variety of interesting tasks to do over the two weeks I stayed there. In addition, they were welcoming into their home, and we had several warm experiences together over a shared meal.
