La Minga is a small hostel, so we like to generate a family like environment :) we are one block from the main square, close to everything in town and easy access to tourist places outside Castro.
You will have 1 free day a week, a lot of tips for what to do and a quiet place to relax and enjoy Chiloé. There are some simple things to do and we always had good experiences with volunteers :)

1. The morning shift involves cleaning 4 shared bathrooms and all checkout rooms. The tasks are shared by 2 people (1 must be around the reception), it was a lot for the time I was there.
2. There was one time I missed a $6 payment because I was not informed properly. The host commented that it was the "first money lost in 8 years" and rejected my offer to pay for it.
3. A coworker changed the to-do list without telling me. I had to take the responsibility even though that wasn't my fault. The host commented on my work "Nothing is working in the morning, I will change everything"

I had a great experience there! Camila is clear and direct and that makes it so simple and appreciable. The hours are respected and can be changed easily no big worries pura buena onda. Camila knows a lot about the island since she lives there for a while and is always willing to help
Chocho is also a big member of the teamspirit! 🐈⬛ jaja, and we made a good team with the others volunteers: lots of laughter, arts and tasty food. The (endless) rainy days spent in the living room never gets to bore me whether I was chilling by the poele, or hanging with guests and volunteers

A experiência em Chiloe foi especial, me senti em casa desde o primeiro dia no La Minga hostel, a Camila anfitriã super gente boa e flexível te ajuda a desfrutar da experiência e deuvárias dicaspara conhecer a ilha. O trabalho é como descreve a vaga, os horários cumpridos e bem organizado com escala dos dias livres, como estava chovendo bastante quis trocar um dia livre pra um dia que a previsão era de sol e ela trocou tranquilamente ;) por ser baixa temporada tive um quarto só pra mim e amei as trocas que tive com outros voluntariados e hóspedes do mundo todo, duas semanas passaram rápido d+

Fue mi primer voluntariado y no pudo haber sido mejor!! Me sentí muy a gusto trabajando con Cami, Carla y los otros voluntarios :) recomiendo totalmente este lugar!! Las tareas son sencillas y la Cami es flexible en los horarios en cuanto a percances que puedan ocurrir (yo tuve que pedir un cambio de horas y me comprendió perfectamente). Las instalaciones son cómodas y queda cerca de todo.
Durante la estadía puedes conocer gente de diferentes partes del mundo y practicar otros idiomas!! Espero poder verlos pronto! Me voy muuuy feliz de haber elegido este voluntariado 😊

Chiloé es una isla con lugares y vistas increibles, este voluntariado te permite conocerla de a poco, tanto Castro como el resto de pueblos.
Aunque la limpieza de algunas areas comunes es deficiente, el hostal es un lugar acogedor para resguardarse de las bajas temperaturasy sus espacios comunes permiten la convivencia entre personas de todas partes.
Camila es buena anfitriona y conoce muy bien los lugares qué visitar tanto en Castro como en todo Chiloé.
