Lemon Tree Home

The house is well hidden in a little forest 🌳 with a fresh running water spring just outside of our main door but still located at the center of a small village with all conveniences close by (ATMs, supermarket, doctors office, pharmacy, car/scouter rental, crafts & general shops, restaurants, taverns, music clubs, coffee shops, hairdresser, post office, even traditional Greek churches-you can hear the bell ringing, etc).
Although it is in the center of the village, it is very quiet and serene. Our rooftop has a spectacular view of the sea and sunset, where someone can relax and enjoy. 🌅🌇
Five marvelous beaches 🏖️🐚 are within walking distance from our house (5-25 minutes). One more beach within 55 min walk.
The Island of Andros where we are located has numerous well marked trails to follow. If you like hiking, you may join our guests or go by yourself. We will explain you in full details where to go or what to see and explore everywhere in Andros.

This is a tiny place. It is a my private small home that hosts guests in several indoor and outdoor spaces. As such I do not offer too much structure nor do I have a reception or other standarized assignments. If you want I can provide structured assignment on request... In April we prepare the house for summer guests and in October we prepare the house for winter but since I stay here year round there is always something to do...Winter or summer many of the jobs include physical effort like carry a chair or some chopped wood clear garden weed or whatever. During the summer season I can not afford staff so I do everything myself helped by would be volunteers. If it gets very busy in July and August and volunteers are up to a full day work I offer small compensation too. If we get full at that time (or anytime) we all sleep at an adjacent field outside or in tents. I will expect all that come here to post multiple times in instagram tagging the house or including me as collaborator... I will treat you as a friend guest!!!!

My experience at Lemon Tree was amazing!! Thank you Miltos and Elena for hosting such a social environment where you can meet so many interesting people and create amazing friendships. The work is not hard at all, with some tasks in the morning and in the evening, you have loads of time to see Andros and it’s beauty. All you need to succeed in this environment is initiative, flexibility and a “go with the flow” attitude. This hostel is down to earth and no fuss :) I would recommend 🍋🍋🍋🍋

Absolutely recommend volunteering at the lemon tree! It’s a beautiful island with loads of stuff to do and Miltos recommends the best activities (I recommend doing all of them!). I met the best people who were staying at the hostel as well as the other volunteer. Generally we cleaned the bathrooms and stripped beds in the morning and then watered the garden in the evening. There was some other jobs on some days that needed completing too but nothing difficult or too time consuming. Sometimes Miltos could improve with his communication, and explain better exactly what he wants.

My stay in Lemontree was one of the best experience of my life! It was my first volunteering experience and it couldn’t have been better:) The work is easy, chill and well balanced. I also had the greatest time with Miltos! He is a funny and really caring guy. I met incredible people and the island of Andros is by far one pf my favorite islands. Great for hikes, beaches and it is not too crowded. Lemontree is a beautiful little jungle and it really felt like home:) I qm grateful for everything, thank you Miltos🫶🏼

THE BEST VOLUNTEERING EXPERIENCE (also my first lol).
I had the best time at the Lemon Tree! Miltos is an amazing host and really hard worker. I was happy to help with whatever I could during my two weeks here. Had enough time to socialise with other travelers, explore the beautiful island of Andros and just relax.
The work is mainly cleaning dishes, bathrooms, stripping and making beds, cleaning rooms, watering plants and some gardening. Nothing hard, anyone can do it. Working hours are also pretty flexible, so you have enough time to explore the many beautiful places in Andros!!!

I recommend this experience! Andros and Batsi are absolutely beautiful. The hostel is a lovely place and attracts great guests. The work is fair for the exchange even if communication was more than once an issue. I was not always treated with respect but on the whole I still recommend coming here. The work is part hostel (so cleaning, making beds, etc) and part gardening/landscaping so don’t expect a shift work.
