We offer a wide range of activities for all kinds of people - whether you enjoy lounging on the beach, exploring the cenotes, or having fun at the hostel with trivia nights, beer pong, and game night.

Our hostel has a family-like atmosphere, where everyone feels safe and comfortable. We foster a sense of community where everyone knows each other and looks out for one another. Whether you prefer to walk, take a collectivo, drive a scooter, or ride a bike, we have you covered.

We are like one big family, and our top priority is making sure that our amazing volunteers are well taken care of, so they can provide the best possible experience to our wonderful guests. The volunteer experience at LUM was such an amazing experience, Gaby the manager is a true asset to the hostel and I would come back 100 times just to hang with her and the crew. The entire vibe of the hostel is so homely and familial and many guests commented on this and how included they felt. The shifts were fun, interactive but not demanding. The daily volunteer led activities were also such a plus - exploring a variety of Tulum attractions and secrets. Everyone I met here was awesome and I would recommend this opportunity to anyone who has the chance! Thanks for everything 🤍

My stay at Lum Hostal was an unforgettable experience. From day one I truly felt like part of the family. Witnessing the social dynamics between the volunteers and guests was truly an inspiring way to come out of my shell.

The work involved was a lot of fun and having wonderful volunteers and guests made the shifts go by very quickly. The host is very accommodating if you need any particular days off.

I truly can’t express how great Gaby the host is. I will miss her and all of the crew greatly and will look forward on coming back soon! Lum is my home away from home!

LUM was the best experience I had in my life so far! Amazing people who really care about you. They make sure you feel welcomed and at home. The team dynamic is amazing even if volunteers come and go. I absolutely recommend this place if you want to connect with amazing people coming from anywhere in the world, you’ll most likely end up staying longer then intended because that’s what the LUM effect has on you! I will definitely come back for another amazing time!

My time at LUM was absolutely wonderful. From the second I walked through the doors I felt at home. The people there go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed, comfortable, and provide you with everything that you need.
