Lus Mór Hostel

WHAT IS THIS PLACE This is a colorful and funky house with great people passing through and staying over to mainly explore the Wicklow hills and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. This hostel has a great atmosphere and is always homely and welcoming to many guests from all over the world. Here we mainly provide bed and breakfast and friendly information to all of our guests. The house holds a maximum of 20 guests so it is quite small and never too hectic. This is a fun place to be. WHAT WE REQUIRE We require some help checking in guests in the afternoons if we cannot be around. We would like to familiarise our new helper with the local area so that they can give walking advice to guests and general activities in the area. All just as simple as it seems :) Furthermore, we provide dinner for our guests. We need a hand for general kitchen work, like cutting vegetables and cleaning dishes in the evenings. Same with breakfast in the morning. General cleaning after guests leaving the house needs also be done. But as it is a small house, it does not take long to finish it :) HOW YOU ARE It is vitally important that volunteers are genuinely happy people and enjoy interacting with other people. A good sense of humour. When working in hospitality the hosts' attitude will set the mood for the day :) " We are here for a good time not a long time". WHAT WE OFFER There is a big room to share with other volunteers. It has single beds and storage place. Our volunteers can eat freely as they wish, although we prefer shared meals. Either connecting with our guests or enjoying the silence on a walk - it's your choice. I will show you the best hikes around the house and I'll give you some other tips for your free time. If I am free, I am more than happy to bring you to places you have to see while staying with us. IMPORTANT TO KNOW We have an indoor dog and two miniature ponies on-site. This is not a party hostel, this is more a relaxed place to come together. No drugs

I am Rebecca, 31, managing this house since 2018. I work with volunteers for more than 2 years and I have been a volunteer myself. I treat you as a friend and this house will be your home.

My stay at Lus Mor was my first worldpackers experience and could not have asked for anything
better! The B&B is located 5 minutes walk from the Wicklow Way and 40 minutes walk from
Roundwood. The work is pretty straightforward and divided into 3 different shifts, with tasks
ranging from breakfast, to cleaning, preparing dinner and cutting veggies, with 2 days off per
week. Rebecca was super available to help and explain everything (even multiple times), to give us
recommendations for hikes in the area, plus we also made some trips together with the other
volunteers! Best host!

I loved everything I experienced in Lus mor. Rebecca took us for walks, to see different places. Always providing amazing experiences. I had a little difficulty not being fluent in English, but I managed to learn a lot. The job is easy. The place is beautiful. I liked it a lot and recommend.
Thank you Rebecca and Lus mor for everything.

Such an amazing place to either work or visit! I definitely recommend Lus Mór to anyone looking to get away from home, experience a country side Irish life and just meet some amazing people. Rebecca is super amazing and will fit you into her very busy schedule to make you have the best experience possible. I felt very comfortable and included at Lus Mór, making it seem very homey in the best way possible. I will definitely be back and can't wait for other travelers to experience such a great opportunity.
