THINK GLOBALLY, ACT LOCALLY RURAL URBAN TREE PLANTING INITIATIVE ( We plant Trees With Heart And System)
The project works on volunteerism impact in our community livelihood,in several sectors, education ,health ,climate change action awareness etc .The iniatiative is committed to promoting sustainable eco-tourism pratices that minimize negative impacts on the environment and maximize economic benefits for the local community .This includes iniatives such as waste management programs and the use of renewable energy sources and tree planting execise.
Mass tourism is not our thing, so I like to offer my home to whomever wants to use it as an alternative, more conscious way of travelling.
Yuna/Mamuda is a village near the city of Serrekunda, in the Gambia, . A wide, palm-dotted beach stretches along its Atlantic coastline. The Brufut Woods Community Project is a nature preserve home to birds like owls and cuckoos. Southwest of town, the Tanji Bird Reserve occupies the Tanji River estuary and its islands. The reserve shelters raptors and migratory birds, as well as rare monk seals and nesting sea turtles.
I am Momodou Barrow in 2019 , i established the project M.L Jallow Ecovillage Project The Gambia. The Motto are ( Think Globally , Act Locally ).it was very difficult in the beginning .(The planed and designed by me )Think Globally,Act Locally Rural Urban Tree Planting Campaign (We plant Trees With Heart And System )
One thing that the project drives and wants to promote is to popularize the idea of volunteer work , promote indigenous people knowledge, skills and Volunteerism, community engagement.
Named the project after my late indigenous mother to maintain her legacy.
Recently ,We successfully planted over 30 different varieties of fruit trees . It was a massive success . It was a long journey but we finally convinced and involved youths ,village elders and women's in tree planting activities .
Our project staff members are working in all professional working sectors,Education, health workers ,Security personnel, Women's community leaders ,Youth's leaders ,social workers etc
We are also delighted to inform you that we are working inline with that of the GLOBAL DIVERSITY .WE THINK AND ACT GLOBALLY . WE PLANT TREES WITH HEART AND SYSTEM.
