A variety of local eateries are can be reached within a 8 minute walk from Ximending Shopping Area is a great choice for travellers interested in shopping, street Foodland night markets. A wide variety of activities and adventure awaits you!

Also there are lots of famous sightseeing spots around us as well, like Ximending Shopping area, Dadaochen Historic area, Taipei 101 etc..

Dear travelers, we are a newly-opened hostel located in central Taipei (Taipei Main Station Area). We want to provide a cozy environment with art performances and cooking events so we are looking for the talented to perform/cook here. However, if you want to help cleaning instead, you're more than welcomed and actually it's much easier than carrying out the musical performances and being a cook. :)

I enjoyed working in this hostel. Duties include making the beds and cleaning the common area and it usually takes few hours to finish. The staff members are friendly and also helped us to finish the tasks faster. Tim, Jims, and Stone are pretty chill to work with. They treated me well during my stay. I definitely would come back here if time permits. Overall, it was a great experience. This is a perfect place to volunteer at due to its close proximity to tourist attractions. Xie xie May Rooms! :-)

I was at Mayrooms for 3 weeks, great location and it was mostly good thanks to two of the volunteers, the third didn’t speak to anyone.I was assigned NTU branch which was an hour+ unpaid round trip, only working for 2-3 hours so there was a LOT of free time. The work was paid which was nice but considering it’s from the third hour don’t expect much. The work was very tiring because the full time staff don’t help much so you’ll do most of the work alone and they don’t speak English well. It was only cleaning and changing sheets, there’s no reception work. The free breakfast was fine but not much

I spent three weeks at MayRooms and it was overall a good experience, especially thanks to the other volunteers (from the second week, I was alone for the whole first week)
Location (Beimen) is perfect and the hostel is modern and clean but I worked at the other branch (commute 40 minutes one-way) and the hygene conditions there are NOT the same and the Beimen one (not a problem as non clients but be aware)
Work was less than expected (~3h day) and you get paid from the 3rd hour! :)
I was given a small private room instead of a dorm bed!
(No party promoting, reception or chinese lessons)

This volunteer was a unique experience. First of all the work is just housekeeping, from changing the sheets to cleaning the bathrooms and floors. Though you will be working mostly by yourself or one other volunteer, work hours would be within 3 hours. I did have quite a lot of miscommunication so apart from being able to speak English, knowing Chinese may help. There would be days where no staff was present until the afternoon as well. I also got my schedule after having to ask several times. This may be good for those that are okay with doing housekeeping and can speak up.

Had an awesome time at mayrooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is very good because it is right next to Taipei main station. The beds you sleep on are pretty comfortable. Stone is a very cool person and he runs the hostel well. And the work you do for the hostel isn’t too hard. Overall my experience was excellent!

Dear Marco, thank you for your help during this period. Because we were very busy, we came back late. We all miss your sunshine and kindness. We hope to see you again in MayRooms next time.
