Cyprus is a popular holiday destination and Paphos is one of the main tourist resorts. Travellers come here to enjoy the weather, the sea, the sun and nature. It is also not part of the Schengen zone so travellers come here to get out of the Schengen area until they are allowed to go back again. We have rented a small piece of land in an agricultural area so the feel is very rural but we are just 10 - 15 minutes walk from a village and a bus ride away from the airport and the main tourist areas of Paphos. Unfortunately the bus does not stop at the farm but it is only about 7 minutes walk to the nearest bus stop. Some beautiful beaches are about 15 - 20 minutes walk from the farm. Our sunsets are legendary and there's nothing as beautiful as watching it set over the sea. We are experienced hosts who have been hosting volunteers on our farm for 3 years. We recently had to move our farm to a new location and need help with building new infrastructure and turning an old clubhouse into a home. In return you will be able to experience life on a working farm, hopefully learn some new skills, interact with other travelers from all over the world and enjoy the lovely beaches and nature in our area, not to speak of our fantastic weather. We try our best to give our volunteers a good experience and we have volunteers return again and again as they feel like this is their 2nd home.
We are a small family run business. I am the one that keeps the big picture in mind and I basically oversee and coordinate all aspects of the farm. My husband is in charge of the greenhouse and coordinates farm sales and deliveries. He is also in charge of all things technical, DIY and maintenance. I am also a teacher and therapist (my day job) so rely on our staff to help with coordinating volunteer activities. Our staff members are kind and patient with volunteers (and believe me, some people require a lot of patience) but also have to make sure that protocols on the farm are maintained by everyone. If you are not happy with them reminding you about these, please don't shoot the messenger. Come and discuss it with me and we will try our best to resolve any issues. We want you to have a good time while still keeping things fair for everyone. We are fairly open ended. If you feel like this is not the place for you then you are welcome to move on and if you are having a great time we are happy to discuss extending your stay.
Annelie and Edwin are amazing, incredible nice people. They offer to help when they can, but are increfibly hard workers so they don't have a ton of time. I found the work fun and pleasant picking flowers and working the garden. I meet some amazing people and the farm was in a great location which made it easy to bike to an attraction in the afternoon.

If you are looking for a place where you can learn new skills, socialise with people from different parts of the world, eat good food, good accomodation, be respected as a person and a worker, like to be in contact with nature and animals and at the same time be close to the city and beach facilities, then this is the place for you.
The exchange was always respected, being 5 hours of work, 5 days a week, with weekends off. It is remarkable that Annelie and Edwin are clear with directions, patient, flexible and very hard working. An excellent experience and highly recommended!
