[URGENT] LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR THE START OF THE SCHOOL YEAR
It's not in our Summer Camps in tents but in the back stage, with preparation of materials, renewal of the storage and painting!!!
From the 18/09-24/09!!!!!

Preferably 21 years old and above.

We are looking for people of various profiles who believe in our project of Environmental Awareness for children. They need to be able to speak fluent English as we work in English Immersion with the children. When the children are not involved (creation of materials, free time with other monitors) we are more than happy for you to practice your Spanish and get immersed in our beautiful culture!

Work examples:

> At the Immersions:
- Co-monitor role (there are paid monitors that have the leading role and are responsible for the children)
- Children animation
- Accompanying at workshops/activities
- Accompanying at the kitchen cooking with children (Master-Chef)
- Childcare
- Camp duties (kitchen chores, breakfast set up, general clean up, composting...)

>Parallel work that might be during the immersions but could be also in other dates:

> Backstage:
- Website improvements
- Talented videographers / video editors / photographers
- Social media busters
- Youtubers ;D

> Creation of Materials:
- Chicken Coop
- Hydroponic systems
- Dry-toilets
- Tent repairs
- Furniture
- Compost bins
- Educational activities
- Portable garden

We are looking for responsible, dynamic and enthusiastic people that are interested in helping with children and eager to learn. Teamwork skills are essential.

We work in English Immersion so this is not a great opportunity to learn and practice Spanish.

Worldpackers suitable to join us will preferably have a background in Teaching, Psychology or Environmental Science/Education related studies to help out in our Immersions or creating sustainable materials to be used in School Workshops and/or at Camping Days.

We look for people that share our values, are nature lovers, open minded, optimistic and resourceful.

The volunteering experience is an open door to work with us. After, volunteers are entitled to apply for a job position (European passports or Working Visa holders) to join our Camps and/or Workshops.

We are, an educational alternative focused on transmitting the importance of values and environmental awareness. We get to do this through experiences of linguistic immersion in different stunning locations in Cantabria (Spain). We are a small but hard working group of people with a common goal that strongly believe in the need for a change. We are very excited to have more people joining the team so, if you fit in the description, be ready to come to Spain! All our activities are based on education in nature. Our international team of monitors/educators together with our volunteers help our project come to life and together we continue educating for a better world.

I feel very happy and grateful to have been a volunteer at NewPa. I think this has been the best experience I've had this summer. The host and other volunteers were very kind and welcomed. Even though I don't speak Spanish, the volunteers, monitors, and host were all very friendly and could speak English. The kids at the camp also made an effort to speak English. The work hours and break times were well-organized because we had shifts and days off, which I found to be very balanced, allowing me to still explore the city. I highly recommend volunteering at NewPa.

It was my first time volunteering with my friend Kristýna, and we couldn't have chosen a better project. NewPa is a great project with amazing people who will make you feel at home. I've learned a lot and can't thank them enough for everything. The hours you are supposed to work are well-organized with a balance between spending time with kids and other necessary work (usually helping in the kitchen), and there was a lot of free time for us to explore the town and its surroundings. It was a great opportunity to connect with nature and meet many great people. I highly recommend this. :)

Pt1.

Me and my girlfriend Summer stayed at the New Pa camp in Comillas for 9 days and enjoyed it thoroughly. At first it was a bit strange living at a camp with few luxuries but we quickly got used to it. Most of the time was being a kitchen hand and washing up, and the rest was helping with the activities and games with the kids. Note we didn’t get much working time with the children. The cook was particular about how many people should be in the kitchen which we respected but is something to be wary of.

Pt2.

They had a very clear approach to work hours which is when you’re on shift you need to be 100% focused and when you are off shift you don’t need to do any work. The timetable is clear and the food was really nice with 2 snacks throughout the day as well.
The staff and children were lovely and funny and we made some good friends. Many thanks to the coordinator Luis who took Summer to the hospital at night for her injured foot and Bruno who picked us up at 3am to crash at his place for some sleep.

Thank you to Rash and the NewPa team for having me for the week! I felt welcomed and supported from the very start. Tasks were straightforward and they really respected our free time. Exploring the surroundings and going for long walks around the camp was lovely, as well as meeting other monitors, volunteers and kids.
