Our place is newly refurbished and we aim to maintain the property in its current condition while improving as time goes on. There's a real sense of scale in this location, as the property is 33 rooms on 2 buildings, however it does not feel overwhelming and is still cozy. The property overlooks Newsham Parks with its green spaces and lakes while also being easy access to the town centre and the football stadiums. Liverpool is ideally located for extracurricular activities both inside and out the city with its various nature reserves and proximity to the beach.
We took over Newshamn Lodge this summer and are quite new to the industry. Expect to be treated with respect and kindness. We give alot of indepen-dence here and free time. We have Shaun, who works as a hotel manager. He is in the hotel office 8-16 monday - friday. Then we have Saga, she works as a handyman/assistant manager/ all in all. We are a happy team and looking foward meeting new volunteers from around the world.

I want to specify that i rated not very well this volunteering because there has been a change of owner in the middle of my stay. At first, the experience was unpleasant because the tasks were not always suitable for volunteers and it was too much as we felt used. And the volunteer room was really unhealthy. But fortunately all changed in a very good way. When i left, there were renovating and improving the hostel (as much for the guests as for the staff). I think one day off is not enough but that's my pov. Thanks to Shaun and Saga and her family, i have amazing memories and stories to tell !

This it was my first experience on worldpacker and I would like to thank Vedran for accepting my request, I enjoyed a lot and I've learned many things especially from Vedran! I had great time with Milan very positive person and Tatiana she was amazing and she teched me many things about Guest house business very appreciated, I'll miss Kumo the cutest cat I've never seen!

The host you interact the most with (Tatiana) is one of the best people I have met in my life. She is caring and hardworking and shows care to all. The accommodations provided were not what I would prefer but it’s livable. (No lock on door, faulty shower, old small bed). Know that you will be cleaning a lot in this job and that it is easier if you can speak English well, it’s harder if you are learning English in this time. The job demands immediate understanding for it to be a good work environment. Thank you Vedran and Tatiana and the rest of their family. It’s an experience I won’t forget

I had a positive experience at Newsham but had to leave early due to an injury. Tatiana is so kind and was very flexible when I got injured. However, I realized that I only want to volunteer at places with 2 days off as the 1 day wasn’t enough given the amount of work you’re doing. Most days after work, I’d be too tired to explore. The volunteer room didn’t have a lock on the room and the volunteer kitchen wasn’t working. It would be nice if the volunteers had their own space a part from guests to make food. Even though the work was physically demanding, working with Tati was a pleasure!
