Qhia Work & Stay

Qhia Work & Stay is a small coliving and coworking community in San Cristóbal de las Casas, surrounded by mountains, local culture and everyday life in one of Mexico’s most unique towns.

This is a place to slow down, create, work, learn and connect. You’ll have time to explore San Cristóbal, its markets, cafés, nature and culture while sharing life with travelers and remote workers from different parts of the world.

We value genuine cultural exchange. Depending on the season, life at Qhia may include yoga, creative projects, walks, shared meals, local celebrations and small community activities. We’re not a party hostel — we prefer good conversations, music, nature and meaningful experiences.

Qhia is a small, independent project, so volunteers become part of the everyday life of the house rather than feeling like temporary staff.

We want the exchange to feel fair and human: clear responsibilities, respect for your free time and enough independence to bring your own ideas and personality to what you do.

We share the house with travelers, remote workers and Chucho, our adopted dog. We care about creating a calm, welcoming environment where people can work, rest, meet others and feel at home.

We appreciate people who are responsible, curious, independent and genuinely interested in contributing to the community. In return, we want you to leave Qhia having experienced San Cristóbal beyond the typical tourist route.
