't Hof

We want you to be comfortable, eat well and enjoy your stay. Our house is clean, tidy and hygienic.
You will likely fall in love with our 2 Maine Coon cats.
Our 2 young-adult sons visit regularly so there is often vibrancy.
We mostly work from home-office and like to live 'in the moment' and mindfully.
The work here is always different as we are preparing a plot of land to build a house on. We prefer guests with sound life-skills, a mature outlook, and a good work ethic.
Please include the word 'mature' in your response.
We are surrounded by bush and yet only a 20 minute bus ride from the centre of Christchurch.
There are beaches within easy reach and the mountains are an hour away.
One of our recent guests has kindly given us access to a video he created during his stay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cFig8PNEFo

We provide 3 meals a day and a comfortable room with own bathroom and toilet. We like to have dinner with our guests. After dinner, we like to have time to ourselves. We do eat meat but not in great volumes. We really appreciate guests who lend a hand in the daily household chores. This often results in a better bond and a greater desire for us to go out of our way to make your time more enjoyable. We ask all guests to take a Covid RAT test on day 0 (before arriving here) and again on day 2 because we have vulnerable people around us.

Wonderful first experience as a volunteer! very comfortable house. Rolls was a wonderful host, companion, attentive, he took me to see new and natural places and made some delicious smoothies for breakfast. He also helped me improve my English. They have 3 beautiful and playful cats. I learned something about how to make my own cleaning products, baking soda is amazing. and much more. I have good memories of my stay at Rolls and Lizzy's house. MUCHAS GRACIAS! 🇺🇾

This experience was incredible. Rolls has been an amazing host throughout my time here. I learnt so much about New Zealand, their culture and not to mention all the local knowledge. The work to life balance was really good, 4 hours a day goes by a lot quicker than you’d think. I also quite enjoyed the work itself and got to learn some new skills in the process.
I will be forever grateful for this experience as it was an amazing introduction to New Zealand. I’d highly reccomend volunteering here :)

Side note: be warned, you may fall in love with their beautiful cats

Rolls and Lizzie are very kind host. Their place is very cozy to stay, and they’ll share many tips with you on what you can do around. Rolls is there to guide you during the work and will help you when necessary.
I strongly recommend Worldpackers to stay here.
