Talus Rock Retreat

Unparalleled hands-on experiential learning with a breadth of knowledge not found in
many other work environments! There is much to learn behind the scenes at this high-end lodging facility. With only six rooms, it's a big nut to crack annually to maintain the property, the business and keep it operating. It is a wonderful place to work with priceless intangibles and rich experiences here if you find this is a 'calling' and not simply a 'job.'

Our staff are a tight knit team of kind, caring, hardworking people who bring the Retreat to life! Our small team absolutely loves the vibe, flexibility, diversity, and amazing people we serve. We lend each other a hand, whether it's covering a shift, blessing each other with lunch, or calling it a day and going for a walk around the grounds, we are there for each other.

I have had an absolutely amazing experience here at TRR. From day one, I felt immediately welcome and respected. Heather, Chad, Jill, Suzanne, Terry and Jay are extremely wonderful individuals. They are all very helpful, kind and caring. This was my first WP experience and I don't think I could have chosen a better place to start. The property is absolutely gorgeous. The scenery is fantastic and the cabin I stayed in was very comfortable. I would highly recommend anyone who is thinking about staying here to take advantage of the many opportunities TRR provides. I loved every moment here.

As a first experience with Worldpackers I would say just amazing, nice people always there to help you and you are treated like royalty. Simple and varied light work. I recommend to anyone who wants to learn English in a beautiful part of the USA.

Andrea is an exceptional volunteer with a love of the outdoors and adventure! He has a great work ethic and a willing spirit. Intuitive, attentive, positive, and quality is driven are all character traits Andrea brings to the experience. He is a fun and engaging team member who is great at working independently as well. He plowed right through any project we presented to him. We'd hire him in a heartbeat if that was a possibility. He's really good. You'll see!

It has been an interesting experience, if you arrive by car it is better, the airport, the town and supermarkets are far from the place so if you are looking for a space to retreat and share some time with lovely dogs, meet local people and from other countries, all friendly and very helpful , in addition to contact with nature with beautiful views and a great space to explore, this is an option.
Heather always present and attentive, Jill, Chad, Suzan, Sasha, Madeline, Terry, Jake and all the staff are very friendly and willing to help you improve and develop the English language.

Thank you for the lovely review, Diana! We enjoyed your presence with us and would have liked for you to be even more involved in our little community of colleagues. Keeping so much to yourself when not on the job deprived us of the cultural exchange we so like and the opportunity to get to know you even better! Even when communication isn't coming easily, we all learn so much from each other. Talus Rock Retreat is a place of rest and relaxation, so we understand the need to decompress though. We appreciate your willingness to jump into the tasks assigned and make adjustments as instructed to get the job done. It takes a proverbial village to run this estate, so we need everyone to work through differences and issues as soon as they arise and not squirrel away. You have so many beautiful strengths--that smile, your cooking, such a lovely spirit--and we can only wish you well in your journey!
