Casa The Garden // Las Palmas
Our hostel is a wonderful place. Large common areas, a private garden and a terrace will be available to our helpers. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away. If you like to live with the comforts of the city, without giving up living in contact with nature, The Garden Hostel is the place for you.
Hi, I'm Fabio, the manager of The Garden Hostel. I'm an ex professional musician, lover of live music and life on the beach. I love to party in clubs every weekend but, at the same time, I love the tranquility. And that's what I try to keep in my hostel. I'm looking for dynamic, clean and cleaning-loving volunteers, respectful and punctual.

About the experience in: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain

It's a hostel in a quiet area, a 5 minute walk to resturants, shops and the beach Las Canteras. A 5 minute walk to El Confital - a coast area great for jogging and walks! The volunteers room is very small. Fabio the host is organized and likes rules and is always available on the phone for questions, help or give you feedback. The tasks was not hard during your shift. I liked that it was quiet time at 23pm - as a volunteer it helps to get sleep as you live where you work. If you want you can go out after 23pm, this is not a party hostel. I tried my best during my shifts and Fabio was thankful!

The Place Is very nice and you can improve your language skills because of the different volunteers and guests. The work is very easy and you can manage your time as you want but being responsible. Fabio is really kind and he always takes care of volunteers ' needs. I really recommend this experience. The city is amazing and la isleta too 💪

It was my first experience as a volunteer, and staying at The Garden in Las palmas gave me the opportunity to get to know the island and many travellers! I was lucky to always find a good group during my almost two months, the work is easy, the shifts are respected and flexible between volunteers, and in case you have any doubt about the work Fabio is always available to solve the situation! The location of the hostel is good to reach the beach and the supermarket! P.s. Sometimes Fabio organises dinner and comes up with dishes not to be missed!!!

Mi experiencia fue muy buena! Sobre todo con los demás voluntarios y los huéspedes, conocí gente muy abierta y simpática, mis compañeros fueron de los mejores.
Mi único inconveniente fue el manager, hubo faltas de respeto más de una vez, subidas de tono de voz y mala comunicación. Dejando de lado eso el hostel y la isla lo recomiendo muchísimo 😊

Although I had explained you several times that we are the first to have to give the good example, to behave well, to follow the rules, you have continued to do your business, cheating on my directives, not respecting the silence timetables and the general rules. It was not me who had the voice loud after 23:00... and it happened several times that I had to come downstairs to reproach you.
When, on the other hand, I spent entire afternoons to cook dinners specifically for you (even after you left), since you didn't eat what others ate, that was fine? Are there no complaints for that? Do you know what happens if and when you’ll try to make a new apply in another hostel via World Packers? That future hosts will look at what you have had the courage to write about me and they will ask themself some questions before accepting your request... good luck ✌🏻
