Good Vibes or Good Bye, easy schedule changing beds / rooms between guests. We have only a few rooms so housekeeping is more enjoyable not a job like other Hostels / Hotels. 2 hours per day is perfect exchange (no shift schedules), enjoy meeting guests, practicing English and many opportunities to explore the City.

My stay in San Diego was pretty good. Andy is chill and work tasks are really easy. Even though I was supposed to sleep on the couch I got a bed:)
The thing that nobody knew and I didn’t expect that as well is the fact that during my stay there were mostly people speaking Spanish, so without knowledge of this language I find it difficult to get to know them more (they were using mostly Spanish so even though we spent some time together I didn’t feel like I made a real connections).
Also remember this is a hostel with lots of people living in, don’t expect it to be super clean:)

We hope future volunteers when coming upon an area that needs cleaning will help proactively attend to cleaning , vs. giving us 4 star review… especially when we were able to upgrade to a bed instead of a couch.
Spanish is spoken right now by a majority of our guests, but they all speak English too and would welcome any opportunity to practice, since English is also their 2nd language
I hope it was an opportunity to expose Polish culture to the many guests we have from Romania, Columbia, Italy, England, Argentina, Brazil, Algeria, and Chile during your stay.

It was a good experience to be in THC, even for a short time. Andy is very welcoming and generous.

Bueno, Andy fue un super buen anfitrión, los horarios de voluntariado super flexibles. Pero los mejor del voluntariado en el Hostel es que pude conectar con distintas personas a lo largo de mi estancia, el hostel es muy bonito y la ubicación de este super tranquila y segura. Me gustaría poder volver en un futuro.

The Hostel was an experience that was atypical in every way and one that has special spot in my heart. The work is mostly doing what needs to be done– cleaning the kitchen, folding towels/sheets, and tidying up common spaces. It is important to note that living was tight with volunteers needing to change where they sleep sometimes. The space can also get dirty pretty quick, however, everyone contributes creating a close knit environment. The two weeks that I spent here flew by quickly and I recommend to anyone wanting to make new connections. Thank you Andy and everyone else staying there <3
