The Old Church of Urquhart
Great chance to work at a rural place close to the sea and the mountains being offered to accompany us on our outings as to learn much about Scotland, this area known as Malt Whisky Country with plenty stone circles, castles, distilleries and other special places to discover; close to Findhorn Foundation as well.
We work with you together and we usually enjoy homemade lunch each day with you.
We love to share our experiences as a German and a Polish falling in love with Scotland some 25 years ago and help you in any possible way to digg into our beloved chosen country of residence. You might like to join us on our outings incl. mushroom hunting, farmer market shopping, beach strolling, etc. You will be part of our life of two guys and as close as you wish but at the same time you have your own private space at the church.

It was my first experience volunteering and it was totally worthy. Kris and Andreas are amazing hosts and their home is simply gorgeous. They are always welcoming, open to help and willing to show you the best face of Scotland. Andreas is an amazing storyteller and Kris is the best chef ever. Also the acomodation is great and you have time and space for yourself, networking or explore the surroundings. Thank you for making it so memorable! Totally recomended.

I had an amazing time at The Old Church Of Urquhart! Andreas and Kris have been extremely welcoming and caring, as have been the locals.
I feel like I've learned a lot about the Scottish culture, about gardening and I feel like I've learned a lot about myself as well. Their home with their amazing garden always had a space to retreat to and to enjoy. I felt really close to nature, as we always worked outside.
To summarise: I fell in love with the countryside of northern Scotland and I'll definitely return one day :)

The Old Church of Urquhart is a wonderful place to volunteer. Kris and Andreas are both wonderful hosts, and more than willing to be flexible regarding travels. They also offered many suggestions for places to visit. The tasks are clearly communicated and the food is amazing.

This was my first trip with worldpackers but I am so glad it was, I spent 4 weeks here at the church, kris and andreas are both lovely people and amazing hosts they were so welcoming from the first moment I met them.
l I loved that we would have lunch together every day cause it gave us the chance to get to know them and hear some amazing stories from andreas but also experience the wide range of recipes from kris, while I was here we never had the same meal it was always something different from all over the world and all of them were full of great flavour.

My first volunteer in Scotland couldn't be better!
Since the first meeting the hosts were willing to help and teach. The work was very well explained and always done as a team. Besides that, we always had (the best) lunch together while sharing stories and experiences. Can't thank them enough.. Andreas and Kris are an example of hosts, wish all the best for you both.
