It was my first volunteer experience with Worldpackers and I'm glad it was at Vagueira Guest House. Although it's further away from the center of Aveiro, the neighborhood is quiet and the beach is literally at the end of the street.
It was two great weeks, with a few simple tasks during the day and interacting with guests from different countries.
It's a perfect opportunity to practice Portuguese, English and Spanish, as well as make new friends and learn to surf during the summer.

Tuve una gran estadĂ­a en el hostel de Miguel. Él fue muy amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar. Las tareas son muy sencillas y tenĂ©s mucho tiempo para relajarte, conocer la cultura local y explorar la zona. Vagueira es un pueblo costero muy tranquilo, ideal si buscĂĄs desconectarte un poco de la ciudad, disfrutar de la paz y por quĂ© no surfear tambiĂ©n đŸ„â€â™€ïž! AdemĂĄs, estar tan cerca del mar en un lugar tan acogedor fue una experiencia Ășnica.

Gracias, Miguel, por abrirme las puertas de tu hermoso hostel! Espero volver pronto

Minha experiĂȘncia aqui foi muito boa. A casa Ă© espaçosa e confortĂĄvel. Possui tambĂ©m piscina e jogos para entretenimento.
O Miguel foi muito atencioso, respeitou os horårios e até foi flexível quando mudei o dia de folga.
Algo para se ter em mente: A cidade onde o Hostel estĂĄ localizado Ă© muito pequena, nĂŁo hĂĄ muita frequĂȘncia de transporte pĂșblico e nĂŁo hĂĄ muitas opçÔes de entretenimento nas proximidades. É um bom lugar para simplesmente desconectar.

This was my first worldpackers experience and I had a really great experience! Miguel is really nice and relaxed, he is understanding and very calm. The place is very quiet, but they do organize some events in the city (when I was there there was a concert and a surf night event with dj and fireworks!). Very close to Aveiro (super nice little city), but not many transportation (you basically need to take bolt everytime but it’s only 10-12 euros to go to Aveiro). The beach is stunning with amazing sunset, will miss this the most!

Miguel is a really chill person and Vagueira is a very quiet town. I enjoyed spending time there, the tasks were ok but not clearly defined. He would expect us to be available most of the time in case someone needed to be checked in. The job also includes cleaning an apartment he runs in Aveiro (30min away). In many opportunities we had to pack our things, without much notice, to move there because he had rented the whole house in Vagueira. I didn’t really enjoy this moving around, it wasn’t part of what was arranged.
Communication needs to be improved.
