WOT Lisbon Patio

WOT Lisbon Pátio is the second hostel of the new Hub Hostels brand. It will open its doors next April and is the newest and bigger hostel in town with 180 beds. Close to the popular Parque Eduardo VI and Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, one of the most important foundations that support the Arts and Music . Is also in walking distance to streets without car access and full of nice restaurants, fancy bars, discos..., shops, gardens, museums....

We are a young team of addicted travelers and with different working area experiences (hospitality, human resources, administration). We all lived abroad for a couple of years and decided to return to Portugal and do “something different”. Different can be simply wake up and be happy to go to work because we all are doing something that we enjoy and we have a great work environment. Laughing, singing and dancing are as usual as answering an email or welcoming a guest!

I had an amazing experience in WOT Lisbon Patio.
I had the opportunity to know Lisbon and have friends for my life. Fabio was always making sure everything was ok and my schedule was very flexible. Breakfast 7:30 till 12:30 and beds 11:00 till 16:00.

This was my first time volunteering and I loved my stay! The hostel has a great location, it is easy to make new friends and there is often free food.
Unfortunately I have to admit that, regarding the volunteers dorm, there is a lot of room for improvement since it actually only has a bed and no closet, no shelf etc.
The tasks are easy in theory but sometimes communication with the staff can be really difficult. But you often finish earlier than the normal work hours, that's a big plus!
So overall I loved my time here, I really fell in love with Lisbon!

I had a great time in Lisbon. You have transport and a supermarket close to the accommodation. I recommend this hotel if you want to discover Lisbon. The work carried out corresponds to the tasks presented in the offer.

I loved my experience working at WOT patio, it was hard saying goodbye to all the wonderful people I met there, the host Fabio was kind and understanding throughout the whole process.
Work was as expected, however I agree with most of the volunteers that the bed shift was challenging at times if there was not enough volunteers doing them on certain days, but hours were always reasonable and you got plenty of time to explore Lisbon and other parts of Portugal if you wished.
Thank you to Fabio and all the staff at patio :)

This was my first volunteering experience and overall I really enjoyed my time at WOT. Lisbon is a beautiful city with a lot to see and explore. The location of the hostel is great.
Overall the workload was manageable, especially the bar and breakfast shifts. The bed shifts however were sometimes a bit too much for me, especially because often the sheets were stained or too small for the mattress.
Still, I’m going to miss this time and especially the other volunteers!
