Wuyuan Skywells

The Skywells is a one of a kind, 300 year old Chinese mansion - deep in the Chinese countryside. Our home is in Yan village, a Song dynasty collection of merchant mansions, a place of culture, learning and fabulous wealth. Today, it is a relatively poor but unspoiled piece of China's heritage. The Skywells is lovingly restored, with 3 courtyards and an entirely hand carved wooden interior, thanks to local artisans. We've added modern touches such a Western bathrooms, a light restaurant, library and bedrooms - but we need some help. Thats where you come in!

NNBB don't be put off by response rate 5 - as of Feb 2018 we're back after a difficult 6 months with computers behind the Great Firewall in late 2017, but still enjoyed having 5 worldpackers.

We are Ed & Selina, a mixed UK/Chinese couple, chasing our dream up in the mountains. In a previous life, we were marketing managers in London and Shanghai. We are building a team of local staff from the village, but are also seeking a Western touch. We are easy going, but have clear goals. I'm hoping to give you space to do your own thing and bring your skills to the fore, and also to coach the local team where necessary. We will give you one of our guest bedrooms to stay in, so you can expect a very comfortable way to experience the Chinese countryside with easy chairs, modern bathrooms and wifi - but also spicy food, wilderness, traditional customs and the full Chinese experience!
