Hours & Tasks

Learning & Fun

Canada

The hours are 11:30pm to 8:30am, tasks are fair (ironing, opening door for guests, making sure everyone is quiet, etc), the hardest part is trying to sleep after this 9h shift, in a 12-bed dorm w/ guests around 8:45/9am when everyone is waking up, talking, packing, cleaning lady vacuuming @ ~11am-2pm, trucks outside, & screaming school kids across the street on some afternoons. From the moment you open your eyes you have to be ON: smile + interact with guests. Staff in the daytime are wonderful like family

I can't even begin to describe my experience. In the beggining, i felt kinda shy with everyone, but it's impossible to not open up with such a sweet, funny and caring staff. Everyone will always make sure you are happy and comfortable with your tasks! Fabio and Claudia (and all the staff really) became my family abroad and i cannot thank them enough for the experience! The tasks can seem kinda hard in the beggining, but as the Beatles say: i get by with a little help from my friends! In this case, the staff! And it gets easier every day :) I wanted to stay here forever! I'll miss this place!

I had a perfect time at lookout lisbon, It's a very good place to volunteer.
The hostel is very clean, organized and well located! Very close to the night life, metro stations and bus. The bedroms are big and the lockers are huge.
I worked on the nightshifts, the tasks are pretty easy, and you can always count with the support of the owners and staff. I had some free time to discovery the town or travel around.
The hostel has some activities and dinners with the guests and you can be a part of it too.
I would recommend this expérience for everybody and I'm really grateful.

Incredible experience!! I stayed for 1 month in Lookout Lisbon and I felt like home immediately. Favio and Claudia gave VIP treatment. They wanted me to be comfortable all the time. The rest of the staff Filipa, Andre and Eddie are the best. The tasks in the hostel are very simple, you'll have enough time to enjoy the city. The fun, never stops at the hostel, dinners, free sangria or just moments to relax and share with the guest. I would totally go back to Lookout Lisbon and stay longer! Thanks one more time for the amazing experience
