Program Details

The resort is family owned and run and so is a very friendly, peaceful place to come and stay for a while. The main work is to prepare the cottages and apartments for guest arrival at 2pm. The sub tropical grounds are extensive so we have lots of landscaping and gardening work also.

Activities & Shift

Usually the working day starts at 9, 8.30 in the summer when we are more busy. Depending on the amount of house keeping required we usually work through until 12 and have lunch then finish off with maintenance work, gardening, laundry for an hour or so afterwards.

Once a week we ask volunteers to swap a morning duty and do check in of guests in the afternoon 3-7pm. This is a good way to learn the computer reservation system and to meet new people!

We definitely try to let people have 2 days a week off, definitely 1 day. Hours are adjusted as necessary to fit in with the agreed number.
