The Experience

The first hostel in Mexico City, it is located in a small old house in a great street. It is not a party hostel but rather hosts serious backpackers with usually amazing traveling plans. We are looking for responsible travelers with an open mind, a work ethic and that can enjoy us as part of a team. Its important to have a confident level of English, and great if you know some Spanish too. The volunteering includes reception and some basic cleaning.

When I applied for the volunteer in Hostel Home I thought 5 weeks would be a long time. The first 3 weeks passed so fast that I was even asking myself “should I stay more?”
Even being a volunteer job, was definitely the best job I had, because was the first place ever I could be 100% myself and that’s what i’m looking for nowadays.
The shift is super easy, check in, check out, laundry, do coffee at the morning and do the check out beds... All the team is super easy going which makes the opportunity super special. Super recommended !! You will have an amazing time here!! Thanks so much guys!!!

It was my first volunteering experience through Worldpackers & Mexico City was the first destination of my travels.
The hostel itself is very nice and neat, people staying there were lovely and chill, and I met many interesting backpackers that I'm staying in touch with until now! The area where it's located - La Roma, is safe and quiet with many parks around. There're 4 shifts a week that one is required to work (extra shifts are paid, which was very helpful) and they are pretty manageable.
Thanks again to Gris and the team for letting me be part of the family, hope we meet again!

Hostel Home was for me a great experience as volunteer. I was looking to get out of my comfort zone and I definitely did it. The other volunteers are just amazing people, now we are a kind of a family. The tasks are not so complicated and as volunteers we used to help each other.

The hostel has too much potential , they just need to put a little more attention to details. Guests that come to Hostel Home are one of a kind, really nice and lovely people.

Hope to have the chance to see you in a future, thanks for everything, I learned a lot, I grew as person and I made the best friends ever

As my first experience as a volunteer, I really enjoyed it here. It's a small hostel which makes it a very nice stay and easy to meet new people. I very appreciate the time I spend here and I definitely learned a lot in this few weeks. Also it was always nice to hear the feedback of the people staying there ! thanks for the awesome time

Really nice hostel with a great atmosphere. The staff and other volunteers were all awesome people. The neighborhood the hostel is in is a very cool place. The job is easy enough with a few cleaning tasks. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. Thanks for having me Hostel Home. 😁
