My time in Bota.Nicas has been priceless. I've been volunteering here for 2 weeks so far and I can't thank them enough for what they offered me. You have the choice to work on what you like the most and both Maria & Paulo are quite acknowledged on permaculture fundamentals (specifically on gardening), which was the main reason I wanted to come here as my first experience on this topic. Maria is also a fantastic cook and they both know lots of interesting stories about Northern Portugal and Mozambique. Hope I'll be back here soon and try the amazing Matapa dish again :)

We are grateful for your presence and collaboration ... goodbyes are always something very sad, but I know that we will see each other soon. Giuseppe has 2 houses at your disposal in Portugal (ours and Bota.Nicas), come back whenever you want. and of course, there will be Matapa;) You're in our heart.

Bota.Nicas's my home in the north of Portugal! The place is beautiful, the work is hard but the time is flexible and also you learn a lot, Maria's food is just amazing and the both (Maria and Paulo) treat the volunteers as family. I just loved passing such beautiful days at Bota.Nicas with so nice peopl and I would back for sure. Also the project is growing and you can see clearly how your work is welcome and useful. I will miss the funny nights playing uno and the waterfall baths!

Maria e Paulo, thank you for everything. I wish the best luck for you with the project. You inspiring me <3

I'll start by saying that it was a last minute and spontaneous request of mine and it turned out better then ever expected.
I satied at Bota Nicas for 9 nights
with another 3 volunteers. it will truly be remembered.
Maria and Paolo were realy caring hosts and
in a short time they made us feel so welcomed and at home.
Bota Nicas is located is a BEAUTIFUL area.
working with Maria and Paolo was pleasant, a few hours in the morning before the heat
and then some work in the evening before dinner
during the hot hours Maria and Paolo showed us the rivers around and the lovely town of Arcos.

It was my first time doing volunteer work so I can't compare it with other places but I don't need it for this comment... :) I had much fun and Paulo and Maria were very helpful for the work and my journey after this place. Thank you for all your help and the nice time...
