We need people who are committed to making a difference in the lives of people within their communities more than ever before, and that’s precisely where social workers come in to help them cope with the overwhelming challenges of Illiteracy, Poor Health and Gender Equality.


Title

25 hours of help per week

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Sports: Teach or help guests or local communities practice a new sport.

Teaching Languages: Teach a language to guests or local communities.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Permaculture Course: Take part in our Permaculture course for free.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.


Requirements

Fluent English and Intermediate Portuguese

Between 21 and 50 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or pairs)

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

Everything should have a connection with Education & Health. Outside Education and Health is not our area.

Conducting interviews with individuals and families to assess and review their situation. Undertaking and writing up Articles which meet specified standards and timescales. Organising and managing packages of support to enable people to lead the fullest lives possible. Recommending and sometimes making decisions about the best course of action for a particular person or family. Participating in training, supervision and team meetings.
